Hello all.
My Wrangler recently went thru a software update.
Since then, my CarPlay resolution shrunk
I am beyond upset (I know first world problems)
I saw someone had a similar issue with their Porsche and they were able to reprogram the vehicle.
I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas, or if i just suck it up now.
When i say it shrunk i mean there are now Uconnect bezzles present at all times.
I have had this car for more than a year and loved the complete full screen CarPlay.
I think this is absolutely ridiculous.

That sucks and I hate when things update and change layouts. I can't offer any solutions. However, I can say mine has looked that way since day one.

This is totally normal, having the Jeep icons on the left and the status bar at the top, unless you have pictures showing otherwise... It does look like you may have updated to the new iPhone iOS, which changes the way Carplay looks, which may be throwing you off...

Mine was not. Super frustrating and bummed.
I'm not familiar with CarPlay but with Android Auto you can change layout, etc.... and adjust DPI which allows the user to have a customizable display. i.e . Icons to the left or right side... icons top if desired.. DPI settings changes area sizes..

Have you checked your Carplay settings to see if you can change layout, DPI, etc. ?

Wat. My 2024 has always been like that. There’s no way you had carplay without the media buttons on the right or status bar on top unless there was some super weird bug that only affected you.

The stock jeep menu on the left is normal. What has changed is iOS 26 for apple. On CarPlay, if you go to settings app>display>smart display zoom and turn that off, it will look like before. (4 recently used apple icons on the left side rather than 3 and all icons/text will look smaller)

My 25’ JLUR-X‘s radio went into constant reboot mode yesterday after I rebooted my Tazer JL mini. I was freaking out a bit and finally “unmarried” it and will give them a call. At one point when it came to life it was a smaller screen… SMH!

I swear I've read about more Tazer problems than I initially expected... Jscan is what I went with.

People don’t hate change per se, they hate change that doesn’t make sense.

My previous Tazer in my 18 Sahara worked flawlessly. Not sure why these new ones are so buggy! Does Jscan have the same features?

More often then not, the Tazer JL is not the problem it is the end user of same that is clueless or inept in regard to proper usage.

->YES, on occasion.... just like with any device with firmware...... a new version firmware that is loaded to the device may often introduce a bug(s) along with fixing bugs that were present in the current loaded firmware. This is the norm.

I am pro both Tazer JL and JSCAN. Not defending the Tazer JL just spewing known info.

Some guys/gals are just not cut out lets say to be using the Tazer JL. To big a learning curve... requires user to have a tad bit of Techy savvy. JSCAN is less demanding but offers less want to have's then the Tazer JL.

For a guy/gal that can handle the Tazer JL, they are very wise to use a hybrid approach... to use BOTH the Tazer JL and JSCAN. For example, there are things, especially gearing that you are far better off doing with JSCAN.
