12.3 inch screen/UConnect 5

Hello everyone,

I feel like 2024 is the last model year I'll be able to order a JL the way I want. V6/auto.

I was initially going to wait till '26 to order as to give Jeep time to sort out any issues with the new screen and UConnect 5.

I am wondering how it's been holding up for you that have it.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Took delivery in August and in that short amount of time I’ve experienced zero issues. I don’t know of any UConnect 5 specific issues. All head units come with bugs and quirks especially when paired with smart devices. As long as both the head unit and smart device are updated it should be fine. It’s ‘24 with a 3.6/Auto combo.

Also took delivery in August. 24 Rubicon with X package which includes factory nav which gives you the Adventure Guide and Trail Logging apps for a two year trial. For me, after 5 recent OTA updates failed, the two aforementioned apps disappeared along with Alexa and it took a week and a half of haggling with Uconnect support to get the apps back. Hit or miss. Some people get updates that work, others don't. Uconnect support has no idea why. It would be nice to know when they are pushing out updates, but they won't share that type of info. If updates fail, the only option they give you is to go to the dealer. No downloading and installing yourself like with the previous versions (2023 and earlier JL versions). Also they dropped HERE for updating and went to TOMTOM.

24 Willy’s took delivery 5/3 , got about 9k miles , zero issues. Love it . Uconnect is smooth and no issues for me . Only regret is not having nav turn by turn In the instrument cluster because I didn’t get built in nav .

Well, unfortunately the order books are closed for the '24MY so if you are placing a factory order it will be for a '25MY now. There certainly is a chance that there may be later availability for the 3.6L V6 + Auto in the '25MY; but as it stands right now it looks like for at least the first while into the '25MY you'll have to go to the 2.0T I4 turbo if you want Auto and/or the 35" tire package.

Regarding UConnect 5; it's been fine for me since May, however, as @NULL POINTER noted there definitely some random issues some people have. I just got my first OTA update at the end of last week and after doing the update it took a couple restarts for the Off Road Pages to show back up and for the gauges to show up again. Also after the update I've had a couple instances where Apple CarPlay (wireless) will briefly cutout audio seemingly at random. I don't think it is directly related to CarPlay and I think it is more likely an issue with the bluetooth stack / drivers but I haven't had a chance to test just using bluetooth audio streaming to confirm.

So overall it works fine and I haven't had too many issues with it but there are definitely some kinks and refinements for them to do.

Have had mine since March with zero issues. I think it’s updated twice.

Had mine since January 2024 with only one issue. I run the Onx Hunt app on Andriod Auto. It would not run in the Jeep but would run in my 2022 Ram Rebel, (also Uconnect 5). An update fixed it and all was good.
