Would appreciate input. Vehicle is '19 JLUR running 37x12.50x17

I'm running stock alloys with Spidertrax spacers right now so if stock wheel backspacing is around 6.125, subtract the 1.625 for the spacers and I'm around 4.5" effective backspacing.

I'll be going to an 8.5" wheel and not sure if I want to go zero offset thus 4.75 backspacing or -18 thus 4.04" backspacing. At the end of the day it's only about 11/16" per side so I'm not sure it really matters at all, but I also tell myself staying as narrow as possible will reduce load on wheel bearings and ball joints, improve scrub radius and can only help trying to steer on slickrock with the front locker engaged.

As it is going from a 7.5" wheel to an 8.5" wheel with near-identical backspacing will push the outer bead 1" (actually 3/4") outboard. If I opt for -18 offset that's another (almost) 3/4" for approx 1.5" wider per side at the outer wheel lip.

Current lift is the MC GC 2.5" (which of course netted me well over 2.5") and so it can be pretty flexy, but I guess I can always control stuff with more bumpstops.

Why am I obsessing? Only because new wheels are a sizeable investment to me and I want to get the backspacing right. The whole point is to get away from spacers so I'd be annoyed if I felt like I needed just a little more clearance from the tub and I made the wrong choice. OTOH I don't really want to go any wider than necessary, so it begins to feel like a fine line.

I went with 0 offset because I wanted some poke, but not more than I could cover with the XR fender extensions.

These are Icon Alphas, 17x8.5 in 0 offset and 4.75" backspace with BFG K02's in 37x12.5x17:
