You're still under 3 year bumper to bumper, should this be covered?

Have you let FCA corporate know what is happening? Maybe Jeep Cares on the board can assist. I'd spend a few minutes a day sending emails and possibly making calls. This is very unfortunate and the dealer can eat the $450 for "software" update. Have you checked out the Aux battery? I hear that is a symptom when your dash lights up and crazy things happen. Sucks to say the least and even worse is the valued customer you are to them.

MY JEEP IS STILL BROKEN AND IM OUT $450
Did you pay by credit card? If so, just dispute the charge. In parallel, have Jeep Cares open a case and let them contact your dealer (or schedule you with another one).

Sounds very frustrating, but you’ll have no problem disputing that bill. The bigger issue is finding and fixing the root cause.

Both batteries need to be load tested. This requires each one being tested individually, while fully disconnected from the vehicle.

These JL's are finicky, in that they require great batteries, not just whats normally considered ok. If just one is not testing out at its best, both need to be replaced because good batteries don't like being leaned on by weak ones. Just replacing the weak one now, risks a reoccurring issue due to the other one giving out prematurely because it was leaned on.

No ones that unlucky to have multiple systems failing at once. Insist that they replace both batteries, if they want to stick to the throw parts at it mentality.

Wild. Can’t believe they charged that much and failed to fix the issue.

This looks like a lot of posts about a bad battery.
Quoted for emphasis.

More than twice have I read lengthy forum threads about mysterious auto & motorcycle electrical issues that were miraculously solved by replacing the battery. This usually occurs only after the owners had rended many garments and thrown many dollars at everything but a new DieHard (in contravention of well-meaning advice to do so early on in the discussion.)

It's just an idea. The prior comment about replacing both of them in the JL is a good one, too.

Good morning, gcd and we are saddened to hear of these multiple concerns. Although we cannot guarantee any certain outcome, our team would definitely like to dig into this further with you. At your earliest convenience, please send us a private message.

its now Jan 17 and the issue is worse than ever, this was a 'STAR' case and they still couldn't get it fixed. yesterday I came very close to having a deadly accident due to the electric steering, traction control & 4WD failing ALL AT ONE ONCE!

i was planning to order a new rubicon but no way now. i could reset the OBD data and bring this to another dealer and get top $$$ but i won't because it so f'ing dangerous.

my local dealer is great! they're the reason im still a jeep customer, I want Jeep to buy the vehicle back and if they dont, i'll be contacting https://lemonlawnow.com/jeep-repurchase-lemon-law/

now my daughter's 2021 JLU is having electrical issues too :) ...

i guess this is what happens when a foreign company that makes junk cars buys Chrysler / Jeep
Good luck trying to lemon an out-of-warranty vehicle.

NEVER use the dealer's service department after the warranty is expired. There are independent shops all over the country that do better work for less money. Many areas of the country have shops that specialize in Jeep and other 4x4s. They will have the knowledge and expertise to know exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. Sometimes there is an aftermarket fix for known issues.

As everyone above has said, the batteries cause crazy issues with today's computer controlled CANbus vehicles. At 70k miles it's probably time to replace them. I'm pretty sure that Deka or Northstar makes a better battery than the OEM. Make sure you fully charge the batteries before installing them.

Class action is bullshit. Gets the plaintiffs coupons or certificates at trade in. Does nothing but put cash in the attorneys bank accounts.

You're better off trading it if you don't want to fix it.
