Is anyone sealing their fenders with a bead of black silicone? I had a 12 jk that I used in a quarry. Grit would get between the plastic fender and the paint. Back then I was reading on a forum that some people would caulk that area to prevent trash from getting in there. Now I have Rubicon...

So what is this panel between the front fender and the bumper? What is it for? Is it a splash shield or fuel mileage enhancement? It’s on my 2019 JLU Sport but I don’t see it on all Wranglers (not on Rubicons). Should I leave it on or remove it before I rip it off?

I have front and rear outer fender shells. I do not have the remaining fenders it is just the outer shell if you're looking to do the high line fender this a perfect option for a sport. I don't have the rears in the picture but I do have them included. $100
