Plastic cover on fender vents removal

I noticed that my plastic cover over the fender vent was not flush. It appeared a tab was pushing against the fender metal where it seemed like a slot would be to accommodate the tab so the plastic would lay flush.
I mucked with it and purposefully broke the tab off but another part of the plastic was messed up so it didn't work.
It appears it is a plastic cover and then it has a bezel around it which is not sitting flush. This is the last thing in the world I would take it to a dealer for because my expectation would be scratched paint and having to wait for a new piece. I generally don't trust dealers to work on my cars as most of them don't give a rip.

Regardless, has anyone figured out how to pop this piece off? I fear i will need to take the inner fender liner off to get to it.

I have to go to the dealer for a paint issue and will be showing him the vent problem. My suspicion is you will need to remove the inner liner of the fender and then you will have access to everything.

This is the back side of those bezels I think you are referring to. Two clips circled and then a couple push type smaller clips along the curve.
I got my new ones painted, still figuring how to remove current ones without damaging body paint.

Hey guys. During the process of “de-badging” my Sahara I mistakenly oversprayed some 3M adhesive remover on my vent covers and they turned a milky gray color. I removed mine without body or paint damage by prying them off from the outside with a decent sized screwdriver and rag to protect against any slip ups. I didn’t disassemble anything. I did break the tabs off during this process, but it didn’t matter to me since I had replacements in hand. I pried in the area of the circled clips in Coolntn’s pic above. The parts were $17ea from my dealer. Sorry don’t have the part numbers at the moment. Hope this helps.

I actually had these installed ....actually think this is my favorite mod.....no glare, my guy ties them into parking light wiring.
It’s a great side marker.
