I’m planning an onboard ham radio install in my 4-door JL. I have a Yaesu FTM-150R mobile radio and a Comet CA-2X4SRNMO antenna.
I plan to mount the antenna on the tailgate using an existing Teraflex antenna/flag mount plate.
I’m trying to figure out the correct NMO mount and coax setup for...
Brand new first time Jeep owner. Excited for all the customization options. First 24 hours had me add a gas cap cover, a spare tire cover, and running boards. I remember in the Army that antennas were always bent back (or forward, depending on the application) and hooked to the vehicle. I...
Anyone changed the angle and/or fastened/clipped the stock whip antenna on their Jeep somehow?
My 15 minutes of searching threads didn't yield anything, so figured I would just ask.
Mostly wondering because it seems like a possible solution to 1) avoid much signal degradation with stubbies...
Is this a bad idea ?
Or which antenna works best on the tailgate.
I just picked up the KG1000G and was looking to possibly stay away from a front hood mount.
The radio came with the Nagoya UT-72G with a mag mount (mostly useless ) its does unscrew and was thinking about fashioning some sort of...
I recently got my 2022 JLUR and the very first “mod” was to replace that awful eyesore antenna.
Now as I’m considering a lift and bigger tires, I’m wondering was the antenna length dual purposed? Better reception but also a “low bridge” indicator for lifted jeeps.
Has the original antenna...
As the title states I have a question about wire routing through the rubber grommet on the driver side. I got my cb antenna through that grommet and down to the pedals, but I want the wire to come through to the passenger side footwell. Anyone know how to make this happen?
I finally got around to installing my BadgeGlow on both sides to be used functionally as turn signals.
It took a little longer than I thought, and I used more tools/supplies than I thought (as always right?)
I used some 18/2 wire, zipties, black electrical tape, & some wire connectors.
I ended...
Hello,
I am looking to get just a handheld CB Radio that would be powered by batteries and/or while plugged in the vehicle using a cable. I am currently looking at the Uniden PRO401HH or the Midland 75-822, but would like some advice from some of you who might have had experience with them...
Just completed my install of my HF Scorpion 680S antenna on the passenger side A-Pillar LED bracket I purchased from Quadratec. My rag top wouldn't allow rooftop mounting and anything around the bumper, license plate etc would significantly reduce its effectiveness with ground losses and...

I have a 24” AntennaX since pretty much the entire time I’ve owned my Jeep (about a year). Just the other day I noticed that the antenna has taken some trail damage (picture below). It got me thinking: am I the only one? Now that I look at it, it is a bit vulnerable. Do people just remove them...
2018 JLUR
I think this is actually my first post ever. The Goose Gear plate system and 60/40 seat delete sleeping platforms were my first purchase. They took about 30 days to arrive. They were well packaged but included no instructions, stickers, or patches. I also did not find any Youtube...
I used brackets from rough country ($20 You get two brackets, one for each side.. think twin antennas) for LEDs below windshield. It works well on the JL. Only mod was to make the 3/8 hole in the bracket that held the light 1/2 inch. Then run the coax into the car. The pathway into the car is...
Hi. I'm ready to change out the Antenna on our JL Rubicon. Should we order it from the dealership, in parts department? Does it matter, make a difference on which one we purchase? Any thoughts on it, will be helpful. Thank you.
