EDIT: I didn’t notice the mismatch in ball sizes. Do not use the struts I purchased. Use the Stabilus 4B-595344 instead.

Since my TJ days, I’ve always run around with the rear glass open to get good air flow on nicer days. I tried this in my JL with the SOT, but the garage opening is too short. Gave Amazon $25 and just put the shorter gas struts on to lower the opening angle.

I always have the 392 floored, so there’s no chance of exhaust drafting in.

Just direct fit, with no mods? The 18” one? Mine currently hits the garage door when open, so this looks like a nice solution.

Mine has handy things that can be removed for the best airflow and no worry about garage doors.

Sorry. Didn’t realize it went back to the selection. I got the 18” one. 19” would have been better, but I took what I could find.

It does flow, but it buffets around worse than Jimmy.

My neighbor says its part of the Jeep experience when he has the doors off, which is often. This after I gave him a link to a company that sells straps to keep the seatbelts from buffering. Glad it worked out.

That’s where I bought my last TJ replacements. I typically shop by vehicle on Rock AutoI so figured I’d never find a specific length there so I went to Amazon.

On stabilus website, there is a pdf including all of their product, sorted by full/compressed length, ball size, shaft diameter, and resistant force. It’s a great reference. The one in my link fit exactly the jeep rear window with less height
