Is there a name of the trail above Idaho Springs, I would like to check it out sometime.
I believe the most known one above Idaho Springs is Yankee Hill Road. There are a number of gulches and other routes in the area too.

We did Devil's Canyon then headed over to Cascade Creek round to Lamartine Rd (712.1) that took us to Saxon Mountain. Saxon Mountain is the switchbacks into or out of Georgetown.

There’s Spring Ck, that’s more of a in/out rock crawling trail.

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 37x12.50-17LT

Based on the many reviews praising them, I decided to give them a try.

NorthRidge4x4 had a sale I couldn't refuse. They ran out of 35's so I stepped up to 37's. Let's hope the chromoly axle shafts and 4.88 gears are all I needed. 😬

Initial impressions are:

Slower. The Jeep lost some pep and the gearing seems to have returned to normal. 6th is useless on any kind of incline. 5th no longer pulls on slight inclines but holds... until it gets a bit steeper, then we are back to 4th on hills.

Tires are quiet, but I expected that when new. What I didn't expect was a more comfortable ride on D load range tires than the KO2's C load rating.

Looks like there is still room all around with bumps fairly compressed. Heavy bumps might touch slightly up front but not in the back. No rubbing so I'm happy with it.

The shocks had to be dialed up a notch for the extra weight though.

The bumps are close up front, but the rear seems to have a lot of space still.

This looks closer in pictures, but there is still about 1.5-2" to the liner.

The rear has 3-4" before touching up top.

Only about an inch away from that rear cover between the bumper and liner.

Weights increased as expected.

Gaining 17.8 lbs per corner, the Jeep is lethargic on starts but once rolling is quieter and more comfortable.

Would have preferred the 35's but look forward to seeing how they do in Moab.

Not wheeling, but much needed time in the hills with the boys. Didn't take nearly enough pictures but here are a few.

The smattering of rain actually brought out very cool colors that I didn't have the skill to capture on camera, but it was magical at the time. Love the smell of mountain air with pine and rain.

Need to camp with the Jeep soon so I can cook a steak over an open fire again. Was thinking that while eating the freeze dried food once it hydrated with boiling water. 🤔

Hiking???

You should be on the trails breaking in that new rubber for snow wheeling!
Been driving. Will be trying to get some wheeling in this weekend again.

Had a few good rains and I have to say, these tires are so much better in the wet than the KO2's. Look forward to seeing how they do in the snow.

Moab 2025

Back from another adventure in Moab.

Always great to spend time with Jeeple. 🙌

The tires did awesome and there was only a bit of rubbing. The rear plastics will have to be removed, but other than that I'm very happy with off road use on these Mickey Thompson's.
