The first always hurt, but I had a moment of “I have a jeep and i wanna do this” last night. Leaving a friends party I was blocked in by 6 cars. But her driveway is setup in such a way that there’s a 2ft rocky ledge, I got her in 4lo, and chose what I thought was a good line. The front axle made it down with no issue, but the skid plates did their jobs, and I nicked the control arm bracket and then the plastic fantastic rear bumper took the majority of the scraping. In hindsight I should have stayed more driver.

It’s a bittersweet moment for myself, I didn’t want to scratch anything but I imagine when I go wheel with my friends this january that she’s going to get a few more scars. I suppose it’s an excuse for steel bumpers now.

There are rules, Gabriel.

How can I forget.... I'm not sure if the photos are going to be too big though. In the future, I see oil pan skid, and steel bumpers and bend the crossmember back. For now though I bought some chassis paint and I'm gonna go touch up some spots.

You crunched a cross-member & scraped up the frame & paper-thin skid. I'd call that a good start.

I’d say it’s a good start also. Although I’m not going to make scraping the frame itself a habit. This coming spring break i’m gonna get under her and clean and paint areas. Like cleaning up after myself.

It’s bare rock that’s nothing fancy, but I took a look and I saw no real evidence left from my little play time. Buddy came out after and showed me up with his tj though.

That looks like a little more than a scrape. Time for some good skid plates.
