2016 2dr Rubicon, 2017 4dr rubicon, ordered a 2018JL 2dr rubicon
I was in D now pushed back to C. I ordered Rubicon with premium soft top. I wonder if the soft top caused the C status since originally the hard tops were going to be built first.

Is there anyone here with a soft top in D status?

Ordered a 2 dr, softtops, 12/15, in D for over a month, down to C, back to D about 6 days ago. Told early April build.

Also doesn't help when I go on YouTube and see all the 2 doors the journalists have been test driving for months.

Just got off w/ Jeep Chat and they told me they've never even heard of the 2 door delay, which is weird since I have spoken with Jeep Chat once a week for 4 weeks and each person I've talked to has had subsequently more information to provide regarding the delay. Obviously, this most recent conversation confirms what we already know: that there is a wide knowledge gap among Jeep's costumer representatives and many are woefully under informed. cc: @JeepCares

2017 Wrangler Sahara 2-Door
Hi, I've been watching this thread for a month. I ordered a two door JL in early February. The dealer said production in February and delivery in 6-8 weeks. Production was pushed to March and April. Delivery in June. I was not patient. I picked up a two door 2017 Sahara at deep discount in the meantime. Bottom line, I didn't trust FI CA to deliver my JL on time. I may have lost my deposit, but FCA is not jerking me around. I hope all of you get your two door JL's. I'll come back in 2020 and revisit the JL Wrangler.

Why would you lose your deposit? Most state laws protect the consumer and make deposits refundable, not sure about OH but you should check.

Then what’s the point of a deposit?

To place a priority order. You can cancel for all sorts of reasons and in most cases no reason at all. In most cases you haven’t signed a contract, simply saved your place in line. Again, I have no idea in OH but in all of the states I’ve purchased cars from, the deposit has always been refundable.

It’s my understanding that the dealership has to buy the vehicle that has been ordered and then in turn charges the buyer to pay back, in many cases, the loan for the car. Therefor, a deposit ensures the sale of the car in the case that the dealership passes up other potential buyers. I’m just surprised that all deposits can be refundable without reason even for financial commitment considering there really isn’t any commintment if they legally can’t keep the deposit.

Quick search for OH specific law turned these up:
http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/109:4-3-07
http://www.ohiolemonlaw.com/legal-links-information/ohio-motor-vehicle-sales-rule/

Again I’m not an attorney or well versed on Ohio law but if these are accurate I see “ten” different ways to argue my deposit back. Did you sign a detailed contract with all terms of the deal clearly stated? Did you sign something saying based on that, your deposit was non-refundable?
