OK--I think I'm about to ask a question that's going to leave me hanging out to dry. I keep reminding myself of the good karma I've tried to put out their when others have asked questions asked many times before.

So--I ordered from Koons. I have a VON (not a VIN). Who do I go to, what do I provide, to get a better idea of where in the production process my JL resides. (I ordered about 2 weeks ago.)

Both my ignorance and good luck(?) may once again risk my getting flamed her, as my immediate question above.

So I spoke with someone on Jeep Chat who gave me a VIN for my VON and said that "my order has completed the build process and is pending quality inspections to ensure that standards are met prior to releasing the vehicle."

further going on to say, "the phase it's in now, honestly I do not see it being in for more than 1 day as I have never seen a vehicle in it for more than one day. "

So--any color commentary on what this means? The rep wouldn't give me a code (not that I even know these codes). He says, "policy changes find us not using these anymore."

Whatever. So...what happens now? Does it get on a train to a depot not far away from the Vienna, VA Koons dealership I ordered it from (yes, I have reached out to the dealer for further info, haven't heard yet.)

Let me guess. I'm at the stage where a committee is to first sit down and take a vote on whether they want to even vote on whether they want to build my JL now, right?

Believe me--it's too good to be true...It lacks an engine...steering wheel too. I'm sure. And that's how I'll get it.

The only thing I can reason was it was a basic Sahara build.

Let me assure you, I'm the guy at the supermarket checkout where the machine's register tape runs out, the clerk has a seizure, or quits (or both), or the machine catches on fire.

I can't believe it myself--furthermore--I've taken this "when it comes it comes" attitude regarding the build.

But that said, if it's actually ready, what happens now/time frames?

I would get back onto Jeep chat with another agent....they still use the codes and give them out all the time. Once you have the code, it will be easier to tell what happens next.

I ordered 2/16 and I am in D status. It is currently scheduled to be built 3/26 with an expected ship date first week of April.

This does sound a bit fast unless I am in this stage due to Premium top and you have either just the hard top and or standard soft top in yours. With all of the delays if your configuration does not include any of the items that they are having issues with maybe it was built that quick. I believe others have had this type of turnaround as well albeit I have not seen that reported often.

I have a friend that works at corporate in MI. I gave him my VON and VIN and he popped it up on his computer. That is what is listed when he looks up my information.
