Thanks to all for this info. I have a 2016 JKUS that i love but considering a new JL. My deal would involve a trade to get the tax savings. Anyone done a deal long distance with a trade? Should I expect to get KBB trade in value?
I've tried the long distance trade thing. I've found if ordering, most dealers will estimate a value looking 6-8 weeks out. You should also expect to get rough KBB value on the trade. I've been given a trade value ranging from $32k to $35,500 when KBB says $38K (2017 RAM Rebel loaded) all saying it could change by the time the JL arrives. They have also offered to take my trade now and hold any equity for new JL. If you have negative equity then you'll have to cover the difference.

Did you copy Justin Reed on the email? That is how I got the process moving faster...

If not, Adam Silver was awesome and they ship it for I think it was $325 to South Jersey, his pricing was 5% under invoice BUT he had a dealer holdback of $1300 which is why I didn't go with him. Didn't seem negotiable, but he did say you could add Tread Lightly, which I wouldn't have in time, so I went with DARCARS
I ended up sending justin reed an email earlier today, he quickly replied and said he would find out whats going on and have someone get back to me. Looks like i wont be able to order through them because today is the last day they are doing the 5% below invoice:no:

Wow, she's a beaut. I'm still contemplating using him, but it's harder to find time to take a trip down to Houston to do it (especially since I'd order and not know when it comes in). 4% and 300 deposit is a good deal.

I also can't make up my damn mind on soft top versus dual tops. Seems nobody else can either since it seems like a daily topic in the general forum. Love the look of the premium top though.
I got the hard top and plan to get a bestop/trektop whenever they come out. I love those soft tops with the slanted rear window. I have one for my TJ and love it. Had to get a hard top this go-around though.

Per my other note - get a formal quote from River Oaks and shop that around the area if you can find a similar Jeep in stock. Lewisville and at least one dealer in or outside of Ft Worth had a few in stock at the time (compared to almost nothing on the lots in DFW proper).

Still can’t believe no NC dealers are willing to comply with other nationwide dealers! Not even coming close!

I went to VA - Safford -, got 6% under invoice (well 4% after high doc fee), but I also had to chase down a manual.

i haven't gotten a quote yet from North Point. Kernersville came in high on their first quote but they are working on getting it lower.
Find a good price yet? Kernersville increased their doc fee $50 to go with the increase in invoice price on the Rubicon. Now it's $510 more than 2 weeks ago.

Yeah. Kernersville wouldn't deal.

I ended up going with Tri-City. Their doc fees are only $349. They gave me $100 to take a test drive. Their first offer was 2.5% below invoice (i have an AR code through work). They were willing to negotiate down from there.

Their internet sales person is Lori and she has been great - very responsive. PM me and I'll give you her email address.

Edit: I went down their on Wednesday to close the deal. They did everything right in front of me and I left with all the paperwork including a VON. I had no idea the prices were going up the next day. So I lucked out on that.

I think FCA may have messed up the dealers here in Florida by raising the price. They are accustomed to getting pretty much list price on the wranglers. When I shopped around for JKUS last year whey would not deal at all. I found a demo 80 miles away and got a great price and they sold it used w 3k mikes and they certified the warranty to 100k. But looking at the website of my local dealer his inventory just keeps getting bigger. They actually had a sticker adding $2000 market adjustment on the first ones to arrive. Now they have 40 JKs and 38 JLs on the lot. I think people are not willing to pay up for the JL that they wont deal on and maybe unwilling to buy the old model. Anyway I will get a JL from a dealer willing to deal when th 2019 model comes out.

Looking for advice from fellow members. I can get a sport s JLU, auto, anti spin, convo group, tech group, tow pkg, premium black top. Or go with a jku rubicon, auto, hard top. Neither one is really a color I’ve been wanting but they will be very similar in price around 39k OTD. What to do? Thanks!

Do not settle, order what you really want. JK Rubicon vs/ JL sport has been discussed several times. Bottom line is you need to decide what you want to do with the Jeep and how you are going to use it. For example, running 35's wheeling then the Rubicon will end up being cheaper overall because of axle upgrades. If you plan on never taking it off road and keeping stock tires and suspension I would probably lean towards the JL. But again you should be able to order what you want from Jeep and get color and options you want. If you plan on owning it 5 plus years what is another 60 days wait to get what you want?

Have you driven both? IMHO the JL drives much nicer than the JK, I also like the interior much more. But drive both right after another and decide what works best for you and your family.
