Very quick and easy...

Called them regarding the recall notice received.

They sent me an email on what to do.

Appx. 2 weeks later I recd a check.

(only pita was having to go to dealer and have the stabilizer inspected and cleared meaning - "functions properly and is safe")

Easy.

Did you purchase the stabilizer before or after getting the recall letter? I'm wondering if I can purchase one now or if I would have needed to before getting the letter.

WAY before...October 2018 I installed.

I'm pretty sure they'll reimburse you if you upgrade now to an after market and decide to omit the OEM fix.

Same difference if you ask me.

Mocked up some old halogen spots. I like the idea of round spots to go with the headlights and fogs. Plus they give it a little vintage flavor.

This is a fun thread I’ve seen on a few other forums. Can be anything from mods to drives, to washes, etc. pictures are always a plus!

So what did you do to your Jeep today?

Woke up at 6 am. Dark and raining. Perfect time for a drive! Jumped in the Jeep, hit some back country roads, turned on the No Sleep Podcast (horror fiction as Halloween approaches), and even managed to find some deep puddles. Nice way to start my Sunday.

Submitting a reimbursement request is seamless, but don't expect to be reimbursed... many owners who opted for an aftermarket stabilizer weren't for whatever reason determined by FCA, regardless of when they made the purchase. I'm sure you've seen the threads about this. A handful who purchased aftermarket after the official recall date were reimbursed, some weren't. Others who upgraded prior to were also unfortunately denied reimbursement. They'll tell you it's case-by-case, which I'd agree is asinine and just plain stupid. Your chances of being reimbursed now are no better than anyone else's, but it won't hurt to try. It's 50/50 regardless.

Well, that makes no sense.

Do they just randomly pick people to reimburse?!

Does anyone have a screenshot of the denial?

Maybe they bought junk stabilizers or didnt have an official inspection done by dealer which would disqualify the claim.

If you want it. You will need a tubing cutter, 3/4" copper water pipe(slips inside tubing for splicing) and 1/8" pop rivets and gun to modify for fit BTW.
Looks ok on white. Probably not a black one.

Where do you keep your spare?

Everyone who was denied would agree whatever policy/guidelines they're following makes no sense and that it seems wildly random. The quality of the part is irrelevant, and you don't need a prior inspection to qualify for reimbursement. After approval, FCA will request you get an inspection to classify the recall as "satisfied." That's what they did with me and others.

Was after this email I had the vehicle inspected and reimbursed shortly thereafter

Like most others, I replaced the unit myself. The reimbursement policy for this is wildly inconsistent and disappointing for those who were denied after following FCA's procedure.
