  1. Who has 30K miles or more on their JL and hasn't had any problems?

2019 stock Rubicon with 63,000 miles. Leaky radiator hose (entire radiator replaced in first 6 months of ownership). Been solid since, taken me to Adirondacks, Great Smokey Mountains, Outer Banks, and commuting. Forced retirement last month so now have more time to hit the road. Oil changes...
  2. Windshields - What's Your High Score?

4th windshield in 4 years. Drove almost a year with a small chip. Developed huge crack from stress. My deductible is 500 bucks, but glass cost me $380 to replace. Cost of doing business, I guess. 62k with zero issues.
  3. How many miles from factory tires?

I’m at 52k on my KO2s. Will try to make it through this winter (hoping global warming will keep the snow storms to a minimum although I did enjoy the one significant snow storm last year!). Leaning toward some more KO2s (if it ain’t broke…), but will consider other options. I do a five tire...
  4. Pics of stock Jeeps -- no lifts, no big tires

2 1/2 years, 40k. Other than minor stuff (dead pedal, antenna, seat covers and the like) stock. I have thought about lights, bull bar, roof rack, but just thoughts for now.
  5. Road Trip Kentucky and Tennessee

It’s abandoned, with the active tunnel nearby. There are some videos on YouTube, but it looked a little dicey, especially with all the rain recently. Maybe next time!
  6. Road Trip Kentucky and Tennessee

Yep, Atacama Tent By Redverz. About 4 years old. Worked great. Ride a BMW R1200GS.
  7. For Those Who Change Their Own Oil: what do you drain into? How do you dispose of it?

Into a catch pan, dump back into empty container and off to the county recycle center where they accept used motor oil.
  8. Road Trip Kentucky and Tennessee

Leaves were falling but still pretty green. It was nice to get away… Seeing my namesake on a headstone made me a little uneasy One of the Vettes that fell into the sink hole
  9. Road Trip Kentucky and Tennessee

Took my first road trip in JL a couple of weeks ago. Left home on Thursday afternoon, stayed in motel in Charleston, WV. Headed over to Baileys Point Campground in Scottsville, Kentucky. Next day hit the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Pretty cool. Headed over to Cades Cove Campground...
  10. Nemo Tunnel

I was just down that way during a 8 day road trip the first week of October. Heavy rain and a warning about flooding from a local sketched me out. No one else around when I was there and I was going solo so I passed on it. Will have to try it next time. Better safe than stuck.
  11. What kind of Jeep owner are you?

I bought my jeep simply because I wanted it. I don’t rock crawl, and it is my daily driver once going back to work after 6 weeks of retirement. It’s stock and since I like my decent gas mileage it will likely stay that way for a while. It’s an adventure every time I climb behind the wheel. I...
  12. JL Reliability Opinions/Thoughts

Pinhole leak on radiator hose in first couple months. Repaired under warranty and no issues in 32k.
  13. Has anyone else been the victim of unprovoked road rage since having a Jeep

I haven’t experienced more than the usual idiocy since becoming a jeeper. Lane drifters, shoulder surfers, red light runners, tailgaters, non-signaling sudden lane-changers, phone users and just plain ole penis heads are par for the course in these parts. Just last week I saw a work van trying...
  14. Who actually uses A/C?

During the commute in/out of nation’s capital May thru September in stop and go traffic.🥵🥵🥵
  15. Got my Vaccine....And a VERY Cool Experience!

Wow! Several years ago in my previous life, I attended a security briefing at the Speedway and got a chance to walk out on the track. The banked turns were scary on foot but must be a lot of fun to zip around at silly speed ! Got my second Moderna this morning. Other folks in my office...
  16. Anyone consider the Gladiator before going with the JLU?

Thought I wanted JT. Liked the Rubicon. Dealer was a bit of a jerk and everybody wanted way over invoice. Test drove Colorado, Tundra, Trail Boss and Rebel. Then drove JLU. Game over. Closing in on 30K and no regrets. Will see who updates what in about 7 or 8 years and check them out...
  17. Anyone regret choosing black paint?

Thought I wanted Sting Gray, but got to dealer and it was gone. Considered yellow and orange but dealer didn’t have one with every thing I wanted. Besides, may have been a little too conspicuous for me. They scream “look at me!” I’m a little more stealthy. First Jeep, first black vehicle...
