Installed a SteeringSmart Yeti XD adjustable front track bar on the Jeep today. The steering now has a much more solid feel to it which is what I was hoping for. :like:

It's great if you don't have a thick phone case, which I don't. It's very stiff which is what i wanted. I have a samsung note 9
Awesome! I actually just ordered one for my note 8. Did you drill the extra holes like the video said if need be?

Beamtech H13 bulbs. I used the 8 K version with passive cooling, and they went in just like stock. Difference is huge. Now I have Diode Dynamics’s DRL/turn signal leds coming on Tuesday. Really just wanted better light output, but now I wanna match .

Were you having wandering or loose steering?
Yes. The steering was vague and had more than a fair amount of play in the steering (even for a sold front axle vehicle). The steering now feels tighter and more grounded. It's still not a sports car and I don't expect it to be, but the excessive play/looseness is gone and the general driving experience it provides is much improved.

Well I didn’t do it today but I ordered it. I bought an Expedition One ultra Mule rack full length. Very excited. But it’s still soft top season so this fall it will be going on.

Thank you so much for the reply. I’m experiencing similar steering issues and am looking at solutions (already swapped out LCAs).

Thanks again.

You're very welcome. Also, note that I previously installed a Falcon Nexus EF 2.2 Fast Adjust steering stabilizer (you can see it in the photo). This helped tremendously for those white knuckle moments when I'd be driving on the Interstate at 70+ mph with a strong crosswind blowing. :whew::)

Finally upgraded the horrible stock Halogen Headlights to these 5500k pure white LEDs from Oracle!

I'll second this! This trackbar was the best thing I did for the wandering. Not sure why Jeep used a pool noodle for the stock trackbar. I can now drive 70 on the freeway.

I think the top 6 things you can do are, in no particular order:
1. Verify Caster, I read you swapped out the LCAs, but have you verified current caster? Maybe you didn’t get enough Caster when replaced the LCAs, for example.
2. Check and lower air pressure, dealerships are known to put way too much air, which causes wondering due to incorrect tread and pavement contact.
3. Trackbar, and verify axle is centered over frame/body
4. Steering stabilizer, upgrade to better one than stock, or verify if your stock one was replaceable via the TSB, where some of the stock ones have issues.
5. Verify torque on lower ball joints
6. Verify Toe-in alignment

Here's a little thing, but quite useful. I installed a Fumoto F316L oil drain valve in the JLU during this weekend's oil change. I have had a Fumoto in the KJ for years, and have used them on inboard marine engines as well. If you don't use one, well, you might want to consider snagging one. They sure do make oil changes a lot easier and a lot less messy. I use a bit of 3/8" vinyl tubing to drain directly into an empty five quart oil container. I also leave about an inch of tubing with a silicone plug in one end, to keep dirt out of the drain stem. Here is their website, and the valves are readily available on Amazon. They are quite reliable, but there is a little safety clip available for heavy off-road use as well. http://fumotousa.com/
