I'VE done similar things on another vehicle in the past. I had a very good painter/body guy. My only considerations would first be matching the paint color, depth and metalics. So unless, I truly trusted the painter, I would do those pieces in gloss black.. I was already thinking about the cowl piece and the hood vents in gloss black myself (it without set it apart from the rest). As far as the door handles I think the same would apply. I do remember that the plastic and or rubber pieces need flex agent in the paint because they are not metal......I'm no painter so excuse my terminology...

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it. I have a Bright White Sahara. Since it isn’t metallic do you still think Paint matching would be a problem?

I was going to make everything white besides the bumper, trim around the fenders, and side vents.

I’m a little nervous how the paint will come out.

this was actually a concern of mine, have they given you any indication of how long it will be for you to get glass? Whats up with the Alpine making it special? Does the sat radio or something like that have antennas built into the glass?
No, I have no idea, haven't even taken it to the dealer. The Alpine system supposedly has some acoustic add on in the windshield.

OH yeah, I didn't even think what color you had, white would be better /easier to match. Who would do it?

Little neighborhood body shop/ Auto paint by me. I live in Chicago.

I figured it was an easy enough job, and the guys seems pretty confident.

No antennas. It has an acoustic coating or lamination that reflects sound waves in a way that enhances the acoustics inside the cabin.
That's it, definitely moving to $0 deductible on insurance. Especially since we will have two Wranglers now.

When I got my jku, my insurance company forced me to take 500 deductible minimum. Hopefully they don't have the same restriction when I get my jlu, I'd rather be down closer to 200

Anyone with little ones here? If so, can you post a pic of the backseat with a baby car seat on it? I'd like to see if the space is enough! I'm sure it is... but i want to see how "tight" it looks/feels.
I have 2 kids (5 and 8), they are in boosters now but there is PLENTY of room in the backseat! They both were talking about feeling like there is more space when we test drove it. I will try and get some pics even though we don't have the bigger carseats!

I was too busy driving it around to post when I picked it up! First thing I did was to drive it 1170 miles home to Duluth MN.
Where did you buy your JL?

When you drop that top in warm weather, the memories for those kids will start to be made. They'll grow VERY attached to that Jeep!
