On our way to the beach my husband dropped the key in between the seat and console. In an attempt to reach it he pushed it under the console a bit. It’s visible but not reachable. Is the key magnetic? Hoping we don’t have to take the console off. Any ideas guys?

We have up trying for now. Can’t give up paddle boarding today haha.

Better specify metal ;) hmm, tweezers maybe also?
i forgot, lots of millennials on this site. they have no experience with coat hangers and duct tape. i should probably also put a disclaimer to use eye and hearing protection as well while retrieving the key lol

I thought gravity is such in a black hole that nothing comes out of there! :bandit:

I like the duct tape and a hanger idea with hearing and eye protection the best though.

What is this “coat hanger” you speak of? My wife has a name and it’s lindsay! Also duck tape? Is that for taping ducks?

My husband isn’t a millennial, he’s an engineering supervisor so incredibly mechanically inclined unlike myself...I’m sure he’ll be able to get it out himself but I’m just looking for ideas so that I can help while he fumes about such a silly thing. I thought maybe a magnetic snake would do the trick just didn’t know if the fob was magnetic or not. Easy to figure out obviously and will do it when we are back home. Thanks for the fun convo guys.

The Fob and even the old fashioned key part of it basically are not magnetic. The metal inlay that says "Jeep" on the key is the most magnetic part of it. If you have a key chain on it though, that would be. Hangar for the win!

Okay but being an Engineering Supervisor wouldn't be what makes him not a millennial... that's an age thing.

I don't think I'll ever be disappointed with your posts.

:CWL:
I try... sometimes a swing & a miss, but still an effort. NC humor.
