I'm trying to take off my hard top but first, and just by looking at this picture, is this drill bit a good size to pre drill a hole for the eye screw?

I'm no expert but that drill bit seems a little small for making a pilot hole for that screw.

I would use a smaller drill bit and put soap on the threads of the eye bolt

Plastic trim off and top back up.

Drove it a bit and seems to work fine. Don't think there will be any issues with paint or roll bar contact. With the door surrounds in, the top tucked into a channel. So with them off, if it rains the water may drip down inside the tub. But it works fine for coverage from the sun and maybe an emergency rain cover.

that looks amazing... how did you do it?
I did the same thing a few weeks ago. I'm not sure how @Ctaylor1432 did his, but I bet our steps were similar. He may have removed his headliner. I had previously made my own headliner that was permanent, so I had to mask mine in step 3 below.

1. Remove the hardware from the tops. (Edit: You will need a T-27 bit to remove the metal clamps)
2. Clean and lightly sand the areas you will paint, then wipe off any dust/debris from sanding
3. Use painter's tape to mask the edges, wrap the white guide pin, and plug the bolt holes (you don't want paint on the threads). You should also mask the clear tape on the passenger side so that it still makes a good seal with the foam-rubber seal on the driver's side panel.
4. Use a satin spray primer/paint combo per can instructions (I did 2 light coats)

It looks SOOO much better while driving! The black blends with other interior trim rather than the glaring white.

A friend of mine made a lift for my hard top today without spending a lot of money. I had the straps already and bought some eye hook screws and screwed thee in the ceiling of the garage. You can make this one for around $30 yourself. In the photos. Its low right now but we finished it and it goes all the way to ceiling but I forgot to take the photos all the way up. And we also mounted my Rugged Ridge tube doors that North Ridge has on sale right now for only $743 with mirrors and free shipping. This normally cost around $859 without the mirrors and then the mirrors are around $80 for a set. Thanks Scott for helping me. I think it came out looking good. I will be so glad to take the hard top off this summer by my self now

notice you also have the Topsy brackets. Thats a must when making a lift for the hard top. I see you have sprinklers is that your garage or a business with the sprinklers ?
I really like the Topsy brackets! That's my garage with sprinklers, house is 7 years old. They build it that way these days. Great job on your hardtop lift. I wonder how I'll do putting the hardtop back on.

same here my buddy has done several including his house it's going to take me a lot of practice to put it back on after I take it up in the air because I have to back up just right to make it fall in the hole when I release the straps. It will just take practice. Hack my time I do my top my freedom panels and four doors on a JL it will probably take me an hour LOL at least. Texas weather is crazy it will show 5 days of no rain the next day it will rain it's a lot of work to do all of it for 1 or 2 days. I want to be able to at least get five days out of it taking it all off and putting it all back on LOL. always remember because we almost forgot today when pulling out make sure the bag glasses up or the spare tire will break glass. I'm not even going to say LOL cuz if not funny. we started to pull out today and felt it bumping and stopped and looked at it was the rear glass I said oh my gosh that was so close I couldn't imagine breaking that glass
