What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

A few weekends ago I got the hoist installed in the garage, so was able to get the hard top off and stored, and install the Bestop NX I purchased back in March... Then yesterday was the first day to get the doors off... Driving was weird without the side mirrors - not required here as long as the rearview mirror is unobstructed, but I still ordered a pair of ones that bolt somewhere under the window, since the ones that go into the hinge point seem to fold in for everyone... Waiting for those to ship now...

You should look into the tube doors. EAG has them cheap or next step up is the Rugged Ridge ones. They have mirrors and add at least a tiny degree of safety. Just a thought.

I installed a Bestop Sunrider on my Jeep Friday afternoon with the help of my 5-year-old grandson and 2-year-old granddaughter. It took twice as long as it would have had I been alone, but we got it done just in time for the first 80+ degree temperatures of the year this weekend!

That was one of my favorite after market purchases. Enjoy the weather within a few seconds.

Switched out the stock Rubicon wheels and KO2 tires for some 315/70/17 KM3s on some new rims. the lift is next week

They are ProComp Series 7089, 17x9 I will take a side view this weekend, So far I am happy with them, eventually I want to get beadlocks so i did not want wheels with the simulated beadlock look, I really like that these are flat black, makes them look more purposeful

Day 31

Finally..... Finally got her out in the sun and took her for test drive. Rock Basher exhaust sounded fine. Some drone accelerating but not much on highway. Sunrider top vibrated at highway speeds...not sure if that's normal. It was a little loud at times. 38" tires put a load on engine... Definitely needs a regear. Hoping 5.13 gears help. I would have gone 5.38, but the consensus seems to be pinion is too small. I was expecting alternator to charge batteries at ~13.6v, but all I saw was 12.7....not sure if thats an issue. Braking is a little hard so I might look at a large brake kit but they seem awfully pricey. Otherwise I really like it! I took Jeep to an open area to tune CB antenna. I adjusted screw inward and the SWR kept getting better, but I finally bottomed screw completely. So not sure what to do now.

Was tempted to check the water fording capabilities. I mean if any vehicle can continue down this road it should be this one..... Right? Seems logical. On a side note why the heck do people put these stupid orange cones out right in the middle of the dang street??? I had to drive around them.
