I have it and it works great. Mounted it up high, behind the rear view mirror using the steep windshield mount.

I agree it is in the way when mounted low. Here is a pic of where I mounted mine.

Thank you! Now I get why you did that - my mount is different. I have a stick thing that wedges in the windshield/dash crack with a tiny suction cup that lets go every night in the middle of the night. Is that a 3rd party mount you've got that fits with the mounting ball, or did yours come with that?
