I seriously want to go through with the purchase of a new ‘19 rubicon, I live in canon city Colorado and have checked out multiple dealers but I don’t know exactly what I’m lookin for in total price other than the lowest total number lol, and they are not really willing to help me, I am working on getting my credit up but last I knew it was at about a 500, that’s lower than what it is but just for a Rough number, they told me I would have to pay 1000 a month and that was just one dealership but I am going to be paying off stuff on my credit so that should go up, I don’t have a co-signer with a credit higher than 700 yet I don’t think, so you guys have any info to help me? Dealerships possible incentives etc.. I checked out a couple of the threads and looked into some of the dealerships I haven’t got to check automation in Denver yet but that was one name I saw, the one I checked was medved in castlerock, I want it all tricked out obviously lol I want black with the 3.6, the body color toppers, the cold weather and the safety features I would like Manual but the wife wants automatic, I just definitely need some help from the community please and thank you guys seriously so much!

Honestly I would recommend sticking with whatever you have for now while you get your credit and everything in better shape. Good things come to those who wait.
This don't get stuck in a shitty situation paying 20% interest for a car. House, utilities, food, and work on that credit and going debt free!

See that’s where I have been at for the past year and my current ride has taken a sh*tand I’m vehicle-less now, so it’s a toss up try to put money into the jimmy and get it road worthy again but I think she’s to far gone, and or same with my 88 Jeep but with how much I travel for work I need something better on gas than that and that is more reliable, and I don’t really want to put a couple thousand into something else if I can possibly just have a higher monthly payment for the vehicle I want and I know will be an amazing addition to my family

It is going to be a pretty big payment. Also if you travel a lot for work mileage while better than it used to be, isn't exactly a high point of the Wrangler. If you really want a new Jeep get a Sport for now. It will still be fun and quite a bit cheaper. Keep it for a year or two. Being a Jeep it's one of the few vehicles that you won't lose your ass on when you trade it in for your new Rubicon that you're going to buy once you are in better shape. I understand wanting what you want, I've been there. I've seen to many people put themselves in a place where they can't afford to do things because of a car payment. Don't put yourself in a bad place. You can always upgrade later. :like:

Yea I get that I just can’t help but feel that I’d be basically throwing money away? And ok what would I be missing out on with a sport instead of a rubicon? I know my payments were going to be high but I figured that would be in the 600 I would be ok with that just considering the insurance too wich is probably going to be outrageous, but 1000 plus insurance that’s to much, and the gas mileage I spend almost 40 a day in gas with what I was driving and people I carpool with want to charge anywhere from 20-40 a day to take me so the gas mileage will actually be saving me even at a measly 20 mpg. I know I probably sound so stupid and headstrong about it I just have been putting it in my head that I will do anything to make this vehicle happen for me and my family and just for someone else to have the ability to tell me know you can’t have it sucks and makes me want it more lmao don’t tell me I can’t have it!! Hahah I know I shouldn’t and I should work on getting more income but I would love to own one of these beautiful machines!!

I remember when I was in the Army back in 2001 and I wanted a brand new Grand Prix GTP. I was told I couldn't afford it and that I should look at a used one. I didn't like it, told myself they don't know what I can and can't afford, but I checked it out. After driving the used GT I liked it and bought it for half of what the GTP would've been. I can't tell you how glad I ended up being that I made that choice. It was almost the same car but with 1/2 the payment. I wanted to argue it at the time but they were right, I couldn't have afforded the GTP. I kept that Grand Prix GT for 7 years, had 2 years on it after I paid it off. Put those payments in my pocket. Eventually I sold it for a few grand and put that money towards my brand new 2008 Rubicon ordered exactly how I wanted it from the factory. Like I said earlier, good things come to those who wait.

I have bad luck with used vehicles I always end up getting something that ends up costing an arm and a leg to fix later on wich is where I’m hesitant on getting a used car and shelling out those thousands of dollars into it to just have them take off say 500 when I trade it in for my new rubicon which is what they are wanting to do with my jimmy I know big difference in vehicle but still! I would love to go with something else just to get me through and past this low spot so I can get the rubicon comfortably but I just need some security and assurity that it will be a dependable vehicle and no one can guarantee that for me lol and shit trying to find a decent priced vehicle is a dam job itself lmao

I have to agree with some of the other folks. This is a $50k vehicle. I urge you to consider spending the next few years working on your finances and buying a solid reliable used vehicle in the below $15k range. Drive it until it dies years from now. Use the money you save to work on your financial situation.

Jeep JLs will still be there for you to consider again in a few years.

See as I stated I have a hard time buying another used vehicle as I bought my jimmy used thinking it was going to be a good vehicle for the time being and it has gone to shit and cost me more than I ever imagined on spending on it just to keep it running, or any suggestions on places vehicles or what? And what do you all do to afford your babies I build swimming pools been at my job for almost 2 years now and barely make 14 a hr and I don’t see my boss upping my pay to much so I’m looking for other things as well

I tell my kids and my grandkids that there are wishes and there is reality. There is no way someone making $14 an hour should be buying a new Rubicon or even a Sport. You can try a 5 or 6 year old Rubicon but I am guessing they are too expensive. Do you need 4 vehicles? Can you sell a couple of them, get some money and save some on insurance and licensing? It has taken some time for my kids to understand reality but they are getting there. My grandkids are a long way from it. I'll give you some hard reality, you can not afford to buy, license, insure or drive a new Rubicon. You can try what a guy in India doing, sue your parents for bringing you into the world without your permission and make them buy everything for the rest of your life. He is actually suing them.
Good luck but set your priorities to more realistic wishes.

I'm almost hoping you're messing with us. With excellent credit you might get 3.5% financing, which, on $40k (assuming you can get your ride/taxes/docs/etc. for that after a sizable down payment) results in $617 a month for 6 years. At a rate you could more reasonably expect, your payment would be a lot closer to $700 per month for $40k. At $14 an hour, you would have to work 50 hours a month just to afford the payment, and that's before taxes (so probably well over 60 hours per month in reality). Add gas, which you say you consume a lot of, and insurance, and you're in for over $1100 each and every month for 6 years easily. That's 78 hours per month, before taxes (so closer to 90+ in reality), for 72 months. That will be 5,700-6500 hours of work for you to own and drive a JL, minimum.

If anyone on here gives you advice that doesn't include "What the hell are you thinking?" somewhere in the post, they should be charged with the forum equivalent of malpractice.

No one's telling you "You can't have it!" We're simply trying to tell you you can't have it yet. Don't just buy a used heap: go find a gently used JK Wrangler for around $20k (the market is becoming flooded with them), enjoy the hell out of it (like people have been doing for the last decade), get your finances in order and buy a JL when it won't be a back-breaking anchor around your neck. Doesn't matter how great a car is, when you have to struggle and sacrifice to own it, it becomes a burden, not "an amazing addition to (your) family". 50 years of car buying/finance experience speaking here. Take it or don't....

Hopefully he is messing with us…..And I think he is. His first post he mentions he has a wife that wants a automatic. In the post below he refers to a girlfriend learning how to drive so she can get license and a job?

I make 14 after taxes and I work 70 hours a week plus 120 a week for being out of town, I was supposed to have a raise a year and a half ago but that hasn’t happened so I’m hoping it will happen soon and I should be expecting 20+ if everything goes smooth I just want to try to figure if I could do it now and we’ll none of the vehicles run is the problem, I have ran into troubles with all the only one running is the 88 and that still needs work to run the 99 would need a engine so I could sell it but to who and for how much? And my eclipse same thing it sounds so rough and there’s nothing special about it so it’s not a sought after model, my jimmy is such a hunk of shit I could barely make what I bought it for let alone the thousands I have put in it to keep getting me to work to keep my job, my gf will be getting a job when she gets her license and that will add a little income as well, I have looked into some used ones but I’m also scared to get a lemon or something that I will end up having to put a ton of money back into it to get me to work again. I definitely know I shouldn’t buy one making my wages but I know that all of that should be changing soon and I just want to hop on and gather all the info needed as well as possible ways to up my credit and etc, I’m currently checking into my credit and trying to learn all the ins and outs of that as well
