High interest rate, can’t pay off loan before 6 months, couldn’t get conformation but was told I couldn’t put more than $10,000 down. In a nut shell Dennis Dillon's financing sounded fishy and I was moving away from using it and giving up the $1000.00 incentive when I contacted Auto Ranch and negotiated what turned out to be a better deal without all the quirky strings attached.

Might give Kurt Edwards and ask him for a quote also to see how he compares on your deal.
High interest rate could be a deal breaker for me. My default financing would be through my Credit Union so they'd have to beat that. 6 month payoff and $10k down not an issue for me in this case.

My local dealer in PA, Apple CDRJ, is offering 10% off MSRP. My problem is that I am upside down with my Cherokee ($8k-$10k negative equity).

I am grateful for a 13% discount from Dillon. Granted, if the FCA rate is too high, I will just pay cash and lose the $1,000 discount. Dillon's financing is NOT "fishy" - YOU CHOOSE to use it and get an additional $1,000 off OR you do not. No on is forcing you if it does not work for you or you don't want to pick your JL up in Idaho.

Rates, depending on credit, vary from 3-6%. If I do not get 3% I will pay cash or go with different bank/credit union. OR, I could take financing deal, make payments for 6 months, which would cost me roughly $500 in interest, and then pay off or refinance to a cheaper rate - that would be the smart play, still saving me more than $500 (i.e. you have to calculate the actual difference between let's say 4% rate and a better credit union rate of 2.49% - not much over 6 months and far less than $500).

Please do not accuse Dillon of "shady" deals as they are offering one of the BEST deals you could make on a JL. I am really appreciative of the opportunity whether I take advantage of it or not.

Such a "flame on" world we live in now . . . .

You may notice that this is my first post. I've been following this forum for several weeks, trying to educate myself about JL's and purchasing options. I decided to go with Dennis Dillon. When I agreed to buy, at very similar terms to what everyone else has been posting, the only documents they provided were a build sheet with a written price on on it, +ttt and initials, and a non-refundable deposit form for my signature. I questioned the language used in the deposit form, and some of the language in the email they sent me, and requested a signed purchase order, detailing the terms of the deal. I never heard back from them. Curious, have any of you received an actual purchase order from them?

I ended up buying from Don K, in Whitefish, Montana, a ridiculously loaded JLUR, but that's what I want. When we agreed on the deal, they immediately sent me a purchase order via Docusign for electronic signature. The purchase order spelled out the deal in detail. The entire process took less than 30 minutes on the phone. No, the Don K deal is not as good as what I was discussing with Dennis Dillon, but it left no questions hanging, and I feel good about it.

Thank you to everyone that posts on this forum. You have been very helpful.

Vintage,

Reading the “Best deals found on a new JL?” @ www.jlwranglerforums.com saved me a few thousand dollars on our new JL and my post was only meant to give back to a thread that I found useful, I have no dog in this fight, If you’re happy with your Dillon deal then I’m truly happy for you and only wish continued enjoyment with your new JL.

You are kind of saying the exact same thing I said earlier, I asked pointed questions about the Chrysler financing and got elusive answers, if I don’t like the terms of the deal in six weeks when the new Jeep arrives and decide to pay cash I forfeit the price they quoted. Just like LS7 when I asked about a signed purchase order detailing the terms of the deal I started getting the runaround and called a second dealership Auto Ranch Ontario, they not only matched Dillon’s price in writing their price wasn’t based on West Business Center rebates, $1,000 Chrysler financing discount that I may or may not qualify for.

I apologize if you feel I accused the Dillon dealership of “shady” deals, I’ve reread both my post and I believe my point was I contacted dealership “A” and got what appeared to be a great quote on a new JL but the details about my final price were indescribable from the answers I was receiving, I contacted dealership “B” and they not only quoted the same price but gave me clear answers to my questions about what exactly my out the door price would be if I bring them a bucket of cash verses using their financing.

For me living in the Boise area and Auto Ranch Ontario being only a 30 minute further drive then Dennis Dillon in Caldwell it was a no brainer to go with the dealership that answered all my questions and put their answers in writing verses the one that wouldn’t.

Thank you J Mack - sorry I overreacted! It looks like you have a great deal too. Frankly, there are one or two dealers close (with a 30 miles) of me that have 4-5% below invoice BUT, I am just going on a road-trip vacation. You make some great points and I want everyone that wants a JL buying them as cheaply as possible.

Keep it coming and I will do better to make sure I think before I speak.

New to forum, so forgive me if this is way off base...lot of talk about invoice and percentage under. Is it taboo to simply say what your order MSRP’d for and what you paid? Just curious.
Ordered
Sport S, man trans, premium soft top, block heater, tow pack, premium wheels.
Jb.

Please share. Price and dealer. I don't think it breaks any forum rules to post this info.

This is a 2 door? Does the msrp include the $1,195 destination?

Does your 32,000 include dealer fees. Please give us breakdown.

Well, my delivery is not normal. We are military and moving to Honolulu. Dealer here in Denver agreed to ship to HI. So bottom line, I will pay Denver dealer $32k + 1195 for shipping. Honolulu dealer $995 for prep.
Strange deal I know, but I shopped Honolulu dealers and got Crazy quotes, even shopped San Diego dealer (shipping from SD), also three other Colorado dealers and 32k was best deal.

Did you calculate invoice on your build?

Hopefully you at least got invoice or below.

So if your link info is accurate, invoice is 32,286 (Jeep plus package). Wouldn’t I then add in options like tow at 795 and wheels at 895, blosk heater at 95 and premium top at 595...if so then I am below invoice right?
Forgot upgrade to rear end at 595. Understand these option prices are retail.

Invoice Vehicle Pricing (2 door / 4 door), not including destination:
  • Sport - $26,590 / $29,956
  • Sport S - $29,438 / $32,804
  • Sahara - N/A / $35,647
  • Rubicon - $35,250 / $38,546
  • Destination Charge - $1195
Then start adding options:
Tow $708
Premium black top $530
Engine heater $85
Premium wheels $797
Total: $2120

Did you order the 4 door?

JLU Sport S w/options $34,924 invoice less destination.

$32,000/$34,924 = 0.92 = 8% below invoice.

If this is correct, you got a great deal excluding your shipping situation.

You'd have to pay destination to any dealer $1,195. HI dest is $1,245 when I put in Oahu zip 96701.

Yes, correct, oh, it’s a 2 door, but I forgot the anti spin rear diff at 530. Only paying 1195 for shipping. So yes I thought it was a good deal as well, thanks for the confirmation and the chat. .
