Video: They say the JL Rubicon can fit 35's without a lift, this video says otherwise

Until someone mounts 35’s on a proper 4.5” backspaced aftermarket wheel; nothing I’ve read here or anywhere else has shown that they rub at full articulation. Yes this photo does show that this JL is not at full flex. It also shows there’s plenty of room left before it hits anything.

Did you not watch the video in the first post?

If you have, watch it again. Because you aren't comprehending it.

Stock wheels and 33" tires have about a quarter inch before rubbing at full articulation. That's makes it fairly obvious that 35" tires will dig into that wheel well.

This post is in regards to Jeep's claim of 35's fitting on a stock Rubicon. This is clearly a false claim.

It seemed to me he could his hand pretty far in there sp like 1/2 to 3/4 inch clearance so who knows? I wonder though if s lightly taller tire narrowere like the BFG ko2 in 34 x 10:50 would work? But just based onth erock crawling vids withthe journalist I think i'll be ok with it as is.

Where does the official FCA claim say stock wheels? By the way can’t the Rubicon’s inner fender be easily removed if someone so chooses to keep their stock wheels?

By the time they come out with the Sting Gray JLR I’m waiting for; it will most likely be May. The fact that someone already put 35’s on their JL with aftermarket wheels, see my previous post, there will be plenty more to prove out this claim.

Your previous post proves nothing. Yes, you can slap 35's on it.

The point is that at full articulation they will rub.

Your photo you posted doesn't show even half of full articulation - therefor your picture proves absolutely nothing.

You still don't seem to comprehend the video this thread is about - re-watch it. A few more times.

I’ve seen the video; once was enough. The picture I posted shows a JLUR with 35’s and aftermarket wheels. I do not see it at full articulation but I also don’t know 100% that the tires will rub and neither do you.

FCA did not state 35’s with OEM wheels; they simply said 35’s. If you can find something to the contrary; please show us.

Until someone proves that 35’s on backspaced aftermarket wheels rub, I don’t have any reason to believe it. You can choose to believe that they will rub but do you really know yourself?

We shouldn't be arguing, I'm sure once there are enough JL's out there plenty of people will be fitting 35's on factory or aftermarket wheels to test it out. If someone in the area wants to come by my shop I'm happy to fully flex it out with the forklift to see if there is rubbing with the 35's. I do it anytime I add new tires or do any suspension modifications. I'm always trying to get the most travel out of my suspension/tire setups.

The OEM wheels are definitely going to dig into the fenders based on the video.
