Ordered! Triple black Rubicon STICK. Was quoted 4-6 weeks although not terribly encouraged that this will be accurate by some of the posts up here with orders going back to October. These are not cheap vehicles and anyone custom ordering is paying an almost sticker price premium in most cases -- you would think in 2018 they could get the online tracking to work properly. Let me know when the JLWF tracking service is available again, it would be very much appreciated. Glad to get back into a Jeep (if it ever arrives...)
Wow! I ordered on December 13th and even then they had just started taking orders. There was one order before mine. I agree with you: the founders of this forum and its members rock! Our JL support groupIt kinda seems like forever to tell the truth . The order banks opened up here in Canada on Nov/ 9 so i headed to my dealer that morning at 8:20 ,and by 9:00 my Jeep was ordered . It went D status within a few days ,and hit D1 on Nov 23 with a estimated ship date of Dec 28 . Nothing happened until about a week before christmas ,when my dealer told me my estimated ship date had been changed to Jan 8 which is the day that my jeep hit E status .
i just cant say enough good things about Jay, and all the members JLWF (you guys are the only thing that has kept me sane over the last two months )
Brodiec27,My Jeep shipped on Saturday and heading to California does anyone have any idea how long that train ride is?
Looking at a link I previously posted regarding timeframes for the JK most people received theirs within two weeks. Some as soon as 4 days. Not really any rhyme or reason to it, obviously further away took longer but even some of those were one week. I’d expect 2-3 weeks max, and if comes sooner even better!Brodiec27,
I'm in D1 with a ship date of 1/17, dealer said to expect 17 days to get to Carlsbad if that helps. But yes, i would suspect 3 weeks to be safe! I can only imagine what it takes to get all the suppliers / internal parts to build these things is a work of art, I'd love to see it someday in the future an updated factory video of them building.
So, based on what my salesperson just sent me, should I expect the vehicle into February or mid Jan 20s? (Best guesses?)For those of us that got notified yesterday and today that we are D1 with shipping dates of 1/25. I wonder if we will follow the trend of the estimated shipping date actually being more like the build start date. A lot of folks that are in the process found that their original ship dates turned into their build start dates. Hopefully we are different and tracking is getting better!![]()
Too many unknowns, from what people have seen here, the shipping date has typically been around the date the build starts (enters E status). Shipping is usually 2 weeks or so, but since you are in Indiana and a lot closer to Toledo you might see it faster than 2 weeks. So lets say the ETA holds true and it ships on the 19th then its entirely possible you could get it by the tail end of Jan. I would not bank on that though, save yourself some sanity and just assume its not even going to start building until the 19th, then be pleasantly surprised if it happens sooner! So, based on what my salesperson just sent me, should I expect the vehicle into February or mid Jan 20s? I ordered 12/1/17. I have been in D1 on Jay's sheet since early December.I was told by the chat line that mine had a 1/12 ETA. I was told by my dealer that i have a 1/12 ship date. but not even a blip of movement on the tracking sheet here.
Thanks for the input and feedback! This may get me stoned or kicked off this forum, but after all the waiting and build up, anticipation and sweaty nights, all of a sudden it all feels like it is happening too fast like I’m not ready! (My wedding day all over again) ha! My current car is a lease that ends in April....luckily I’ve paid everything off already so I won’t be stuck with multiple payments, but it is going to take a mental adjustment before I can park one in my driveway that soon. 3 weeks ago I was worried I would have to extend my lease waiting on the JL. Now....I would almost rather it takes a little longer so I’m not getting it in the dead of winter. Sorry you’re going through this. I wouldn’t feel bad either if your dealer is giving you the run around. I hope you like the JL coming in next week-you’ve waited long enough. So at 70 days past my order date, still not even in D1, I find out I can't renew my long term rental anymore (last jeep totaled in Sept.) I checked on other rentals and realized what a great deal I have had previously. I have to keep a 'nice' car for work purposes. It will double my monthly cost.
If I happen to go to D1 today, I reasonably still won't get the jeep for 4-6 weeks. (So frustrating to see other soft top only cars ordered a full 9 weeks after mine at stage JS while I am stuck in D.) So at the give-up point I look around for inventory. Found one close to mine (other than color black instead of red, and hard top instead of soft.) and get this..... for less $$ than my current order. It just went from rail to truck today, so should be on the lot next week.
I had wanted to buy locally even though the deal wasn't as good as I could do elsewhere to support local folks. But then this week my dealer gave me the run-around and basically refused to take my call. So I don't feel bad about leaving him with that order (no deposit from me.) I won't mind driving a couple of hours to get it cheaper with basically a free hard top (which I will sell).
That is unless we fall in love with the audi convertible we test drive this weekend (Nah, ain't gonna happen.)
I will be sure to let you know @JAY when I reach final decision so you can then remove my order tracking.
I was in this thought process too except there is still ZERO manual transmissions in transit anywhere in the country. I am still mind boggled (even though they sell WAY more autos) that the "base model" of a vehicle has not produced a single unit in retail sales pipeline yet. Its almost as if the base should be with an automatic tranny then a discount for the manual if you choose that as the "option". Pretty much every dealer i've been to over the years only has a few manuals compared to almost all auto's on lot.So at 70 days past my order date, still not even in D1, I find out I can't renew my long term rental anymore (last jeep totaled in Sept.) I think Dan W has a manual and is further along in the build process. I chose a manual and I was upgraded to D1 status today with (ship/build) date of 1-25-18. Maybe they are ready to roll out the manuals now.I was in this thought process too except there is still ZERO manual transmissions in transit anywhere in the country.
