The local dealership here that didn't want to budge from MSRP is calling me back after I told them another dealership is going to give me 1% under invoice with the (tread lightly membership)and said they'll do $300 below 1% under invoice. I'm going tomorrow to start the paper work, I hope they don't try to pull anything on me. Thanks guys for all the insight I've gotten from here

The sales manager was working on my order and a "special" price I love, let you know when I see it in my mailbox
Might go over there tomorrow to see it in real life for the first time, otherwise Friday, want to get it order asap :)
Please share any info you get from Folsom and I will do the same, although I probably won't be negotiating till the jeep is close to arriving.

I asked my dealer if the deposit was refundable. She was like “uh yeah” if you don’t want it we will sell this vehicle very easily off the lot.

I’m not expecting to see many sitting on the lot for a while.

That's still fairly high. They will be making plenty off of you. They will make you think otherwise, still.

Ordering before negotiating is an absolute terrible idea. They have you by the balls already.

So do I. Unless you're an experienced negotiator, you'll blink first. You will also have an information disadvantage when a rep looks you in the eye and lies about something you're not in a position to challenge on the spot.

That's still fairly high. They will be making plenty off of you. They will make you think otherwise, still.
Even for the dealer being in southern California? It's about 20 miles from my house. I see ppl on the east coast getting 5% under invoice but not in CA.

I got 6% below in CA. And had 3 other dealerships in California willing to do 5% below invoice.

Gilroy (Price match) - 5% (Apparently the leader in Northern California on volume - They offered a good price right off the bat)

I did nothing but email them through their contact forms on their websites.

All correspondence was with their internet salesmen. All by email.

Did you actually end up ordering a JL? Curious, the Gilroy dealershit still hasn't replied to me. I purchased a car from then less than 12 months ago. They tend to be 0BS.

I ordered it, like almost everybody on here. Waiting for dealer stock will end up costing you more money. Dealerships are more likely to upsell them for a while because they will be hard to find until production ramps up.
