Got my duplicate door key made. Only bad thing is it sets off the alarm when unlocked if the doors are locked with the buttons or key fob. You will have to manually lock all the doors and the tailgate with the key to avoid this.

If it's the chip in the key that is setting off the alarm, it can probably be removed from the key.

@Rubi JLU do you HAVE to use their balls or can you use the Ram Mount balls? Can you take a pic from higher above so I can see how it mounts and how much of that cubby is still useful.
I guess it depends on the Ram Mount Balls. They would need to fit within the rail.

Here are the Vector balls, you can see how the bottom portion fits within the rail. https://vectoroffroad.com/collections/jl-wrangler-products/products/1-mounting-ball

I will try and take some additional photos higher up. The insert no longer fits unless you cut it but you still have good access to that location.

That's a concern that I had also. My thoughts about a possible solution:

https://sites.google.com/site/navyvet1959/vehicles/wrangler-jl-start-button-security

Maybe I'll get around to implementing it one of these days if I ever end up driving back down to Florida for some diving.
I like the way you think. Having a hidden kill switch connected to the start/stop switch would work well, I think. Because even if the FOB is locked up, someone that breaks in could still start the JEEP. Maybe a lock box with an RF blocking bag to put the FOB.

No chip in this one. Will just have to manually lock the doors then lock the rear tailgate manually.

You can also remove the battery from the FOB. I've also found that a single layer of aluminum foil blocks cellular network and even wifi signals even if the phone is right next to the wifi access point. If you wanted something a little less shiny and obvious, maybe one of the appropriately sized metal boxes like Altoids or whatever comes in.

Something like this would probably also work:

Just need to check the dimensions...

@jericbarg

If I lock my JL's doors with the fob or with one of the interior door lock buttons and then come back to the JL, later without the fob, but with my chip free hide a key.... and unlock/open the door with the unchipped hide a key, the alarm sounds.

When this happens, I quickly grab my spare JL fob that is stashed well, in easy reach, and in a Faraday Bag inside the JL. I use it to turn off the alarm. 8-)

Pricey I suppose YOU will say but I use a Faraday Bag. The one I use is known to last, wear well and not to become problematic... to stop working.

I've worked in places where there were actual Faraday cages for testing avionics that were being developed. They're basically just a copper mesh enclosure. For hiding a FOB in a Jeep, I would want something that was a bit more stealth than the product you listed. Something that would work, but would not look like it was something important / valuable enough to steal on it's own rights.

Maybe something like this:

@NavyVet1959 My little Faraday Bag is stashed where you don't see it and would never think to look..

All the hide a cans you have shown... if they were lying in my JL, some friggin nitwit would break the window just to get it and eat/drink what they think is in the can... Ho, ho, ho.. They would even break in for Altoid mints in a can..

I do have a Miller Lite can and an Oil Can hide a can in my shop though, that I stash chittt in.

They need to make a Tab drink can then... No one would break into a car to drink that crap! :)

Now, if one of the cans was a fake fix-a-flat type can, that would look perfectly in place laying around in a vehicle. :)

Sometimes you gotta do the little things like protecting and securing the power step wiring with good ole split loom tubing. Now I feel complete!
(No knocks on the fuzzy slippers please).
