I have a 2024 Rubi X with BSM and proximity locks. I am buying half doors that are also equipped with BSM and proximity locks, but seller is not sure if they came off of a 2022, 2023 or 2024 model. Will I be able to just plug the wiring harness in from the half doors and the BSM and proximity locks will work, or are there additional modifications that are required?

They should be plug and play
Before I posted the question, I performed a basic google search and received conflicting answers. One answer indicated that for the 2024 model year, the door wiring harness is slightly different and “reprogramming is required to get the computer to recognize the half doors”, based on your response, that is not correct?? Thanks for your reply!!!!

If the mirrors have BSM and the door handles have Passive Entry, they should be plug-and-play. Just plug the doors in, and there shouldn't be any additional programming or modifications required.

mine is a 23 rubicon xr. I think the doors I bought were from a 24 gladiator. It was plug and play for me. Honestly I don’t lock it anyways. Too easy to break into with 1/2 doors.

Thanks for the info, they are scheduled to get delivered today. I’m having them painted at a body shop which has a great reputation. I almost fainted at the cost, $1k each to “blend the color to match the vehicle”.

The seller is driving 7 hours to deliver the doors. Although he assured me, they are in perfect condition, this is the only photo he sent. I did tell him the doors must be like new. I just noticed something in the photo, look for the black arrow. Because I have no idea what the hell I’m looking at, it does look screwed up. Does anyone know what the arrow is pointed at?

The last two doors (looking at the photo left to right) are the rear half doors, upside down. I would have expected to see black trim there, or at least an opening that matched the color of the rest of the door. Maybe they taped over that section?

That’s just dust/dirt on the door seal.

Did I read that right, $4k to paint them? Wow, I paid $1k to have mine painted. I stripped them down and took the painter four shells and eight hinges, I left them my cowl panel for color matching and they came out great.

No, it is $2000 to paint both doors. However, after talking to several body shops, I have another question. Hold on boomi was told unless they “blend” the doors with the body of the Jeep, doors will not match perfectly. Question, doesn’t mean the original doors and the half doors need to be blended for both sets to match perfectly. I should’ve asked them that question but I did not think about it at the time. The way, I understand it, they overspray the doors approximately 18 inches on each side of the body to make it appear everything matches to the naked eye

Ok, the picture you posted has four doors, and your question was about the rear doors as pointed out with the black arrow. You have a two door Jeep? The paint shop should be able to match the new doors to the color of the Jeep with a scan device that gives them the paint formula.

Yes, 2 door Rubi. I called 8 body shops. Three told me, in order to get a perfect match, they need to blend the paint on the doors to the body. One shop said they can scan it. Four of the shops won’t touch it because I did not buy the doors from them. 3 of those 4 were “ corporate” shops, Crash Champions was one that refused to do it. I guess body shops in Idaho have more business than they can handle. 3 of the 8 shops were not customer friendly in the least, 1 was borderline rude.
