I'm looking for a set of front inner fender liners for my 2021 diesel to replace my Motobilt inner fender liner. I have the Motobilt washer fluid relocation so I believe I should theoretically be able to run any of the gas versions also.

A little back story..
Back in June of 2024 I installed a set of Motobilt inner fender liners amongst other things (Motobilt windshield washer relocation kit for the diesel, Quake front fender chop, Rusty's tire carrier, and Rock Krawler 3.5" lift)to accommodate my new 37" tires. The install went.. ok.. fitment took some persuasion but I can accept that when trying to design an aftermarket product for a vehicle when the variation in the OEM product is unknown. The Motobilt washer fluid relocation was great, fitment was excellent and I would definitely recommend that product if you have a diesel or 392.

Over the next year I had frequent rattling from the driver side liner when at idle, which I tried to eliminate. It would work for a few weeks and it would come back. Finding what part of the liner was rattling was difficult because it would stop if I got out of the driver seat and come back when I got in, so I always needed a second person. I'm guessing this is due to part of the fender being mounted to the frame and part to the body, which move slightly relative to each other. The passenger side ended up being ripped off completely by my 37" tire while out on a trail. The liner actually tore around the mounting locations and the bolts are still in my jeep with some aluminum still around them, so I know it wasn't loose bolts that fell out allowing it to get caught.

So I'd like to find a new set of fender liners and I'm looking for recommendations... Right now I think Nemesis is in the lead for me since it looks like they have great clearance and don't mount to the frame at all.

On a side note, I think it would be really cool to have a direct comparison between liners in the market and see which one provides the most clearance using 3D scan data. I have the ability to acquire the scan data and do some comparison, but I'd need some volunteers with different liners installed on their jeep, so feel free to send me a DM.

I’ve had the same Motobilt front inner fender liners for about 2.5 years. I have no rattle, but I did have one of these brackets break and Motobilt promptly sent me a pair of replacements. I’m guessing just fatigue over time from things flexing off road. I used blue Loctite on everything but ended up using a longer hardware with a nylock nut on the back because the bolt circled in red would back out over time.

I run the AAL inners with zero issues, had it on my jlurd as well too. All due to the dzus quick release fasteners for easy maintenance/removal.

Yea I had that one fall out on me a few times and I put in a lock washer and a nylon nut which didn't help but it never fixed my rattle.

I just installed the inner fenders from Hooke Road. Install was simple on my JLUR diesel. No need to relocate anything.

I have the NextVenture on my 392. One of the reasons I picked them is because they mounted only to the body, not the both the body and frame like Motobilt. I also have the Motobilt windshield fluid reservoir.

They have more clearance than the Artec liners that I had before. They couldn't fit 40s, the NextVenture ones do. I can't compare the clearance between Motobilt and NextVenture, I assume they are similar.

The fitment was good. The only surprise I got was the passenger mount at the top is steel. I didn't expect that when I went to install and had to delay another day to paint it. I was hesitant about the connectors (I don't remember the name of them) but they are awesome. It takes 15 seconds to remove each side. I didn't think they would hold up at highway speeds (think 80+mph with strong crosswinds) but they have been tight.

I decided to take advantage of a sale that Next Venture Motorsports was running and purchased their inner fender liners.

After removing the one remaining fender liner on the driver side, I found where the liner was interfering with the washer fluid relocation. I believe this was the cause of my rattle seeing that the washer tank was mounted to both the body and frame, and as I would resolve it, it would wear more, loosing up and then cause the rattle.

Installing the NVM liners, the fitment was similar to the Motobilt ones and took some persuasion, which was slightly disappointing considering the price. I did have to trim some of the top front perimeter on the driver side to get it to clear enough to push the last bracket in place to drill the hole for the rivnut. They fit, but I have to install the dzus fasteners in a specific order to get them all installed, otherwise they won't fit. I did remove the washer fluid tank bracket that mounts to the frame and made my own that mounts to the firewall because otherwise it would interfere with the NVM inner fenders.

The liners have what seems to be an outline for cutting to clear other shocks( I'm guessing falcons), which is nice but I wish they would've done this on the back side, rather than the side visible when installed.

After installing I decided to compare clearance between the two.
Jeep Wrangler JL Inner fender liners recommendations Driver Inner Fender NVM vs Motobilt 2
Jeep Wrangler JL Inner fender liners recommendations Driver Inner Fender NVM vs Motobilt frame hidden

Near the firewall there are areas where the NVM liners have as much as 1.5" more clearance than the Motobilts. Towards the front of the Jeep the Motobilts have 0.120"-0.5" more clearance, which seems to be due to the fact that they use a bracket to mount to the frame allowing it to hold it nice and close. The red spot is showing Motobilt has over an inch more clearance over the NVM but that is directly on top of the spring perch so really doesn't impact tire clearance.

Anywhere there is a negative number, NVM has more clearance, positive number, Motobilt.

I wish I had scan data for the passenger side before mine ripped off but I'm assuming it is similar.

Not relevant to you anymore but Motobilt moved their bracket from the frame frail to the bulkhead and increased its thickness to deal with the twisting and breaking. Also curious about your wheel offset if you’re having that much contact with your fender liners,

May need to reach out to @Motobilt to see if they offer updates for free cause mine are on the frame and one broke and the other pulled thru the liner cause of vibration lol

That's great! Thanks for posting that update!

I actually just switched my wheels so I took some measurements. I had stock Rubicon wheels that measured 6", and I had 1.5" wheel spacers to help provide some clearance on my RK pro lower control arms, so 4.5" BS on a 37x12.50 tire

I also have AAL American Adventure Lab, they been awesome and it's great to be able to remove them so quickly if need be.

Were these the high clearance MB inners? I've been eyeing them trying to actually determine if there's any increase to be had in uptravel if I changed from my cavfabs.
