Your old person reference went over my childish head. I'm going to assume sparkly grey.
A WAG, Firecracker Red w/o reading an further. That color does not sound like you, Mr. Cowpony. But it fits SoCal.

Ted-> Ted Turner->Atlanta Braves-> Red or Black? Oh, WTF, I don't even know what "inner Ted" is!

I mean insides are usually red so it holds up no matter who ted is.

Sorry to break up the Bro-Fest Love but I made the trip w/o issue.
I100 from Severn MD, where I was staying, was a cluster so no high speeds thru there. Once I hit I70 the rains came so that slowed traffic; no high speeds. Then the torrential downpour hit which really slowed the speeds. As that cleared my GPS took me on to I40, which I referred to as the hillbilly route as it took me thru all the small towns along the way. I am not sure what I programmed, but that kept my speeds down yet quite varied up and down the hills up to the 300 miles mark on the odometer.
Once thru that stretch and back on the I70 West I was able to pick up speed a bit and really air it out once the land got flat into Ohio. Long trip but Jeep drove great!
To add- sweet tea and beef sticks were the food of choice. Someone here mentioned jerky and coffee.

Ha ha, yeah, that was me. Jerky and coffee are my two food groups of choice when I'm on the road. All you need is a Thermos, and some napkins.

I ended up at a new Buckeys in Amarillo @ 3:00 in the morning. Besides gawking at all the people in Buckeys at that time of night, I managed to pick up a pound of jerky and Thermos full of hot coffee. Got me all the way home, with a full belly to boot!

So, the cat is out of the bag. I bought a white 392 Moab in Tucson. Flew from LAX to TUS Friday, to pick it up yesterday morning. Kudos to Cruz and the staff at Larry H Miller Chrysler Jeep in Tucson for having the docs all ready to sign. It took less than 1 1/2 hrs, including the test drive, which included a stop to HomeD to get a step stool for the wife, to help with her bad knee and recent fused L3 on down. No haggle price that was as cheap as any advertised anywhere. 27X pkg which essentially makes it a 392 Rubicon XR, by adding 35s, 4.56, front locker, swaybar disco, and I'm not sure what else.

On the trip home, I decided to take 2 lane road, AZ hwy 86, west out of Tucson, past Kitt Peak, where we went up the mountain to the national observatories tour, where that picture was taken, then it bends northward up thru Why and Ajo and up to Gila Bend. This route gave me some miles to play with the break-in with some mid speed cruising and power runs at moderate rpm with high throttle. During this time the oil temp was initially high and eventually started coming down after a couple hundred miles of alternating this. Once we refueled in Gila Bend, I let the wife drive it in to Yuma, where we spent the night. Found a great restaurant in Yuma, River City Grill. Highly recommend.

Today, the plan is to continue across I-8 into California, then turn north on CA51 Sunrise Hwy, up to Julian for some apple pie, then we're undecided on the route from there. I think the break-in of the rings is going well based on oil and coolant temps dropping, even though the outside temps climbed to over 100.

During some power runs, it demonstrated the 392 is a beast. 😝

What are considered high oil & coolant temps?
