Anyone Ever See This Sunglass Storage Mod for a JL

I have a lot of issues with those glasses holder that go on the visor. They are all junk and do not hold tight enough, Ive tried too many already. Anyone see anything like this for the JL. That area, the dash tray, is useless as is, because the glasses will go flying with out this roll cover when i turn. You'd think with 22,000 variations of passenger side grab handle trays we could get one of these.

This is the closest I could find, but would love a cover of any type.

Personal aesthetics, I don't like fabric storage, or fabric grab handles etc. I like plastic, metal and bolts.

FYI - I saw >>this<< on ebay, but I can't tell how deep it is. Also, it looks like it is held on with 3M tape.

What about that small compartment directly under the console lid? I have a pair in there, along with a micro fiber to keep them from sliding around.

You mean the center console? The top compartment is not a lot of room and I have my wires in there, the level below has room but I dont want it to get too messy in there. Glasses I like very accessible for when I need to reach while I am driving.

I use something like this for my sunglasses. It keeps them clean in dusty environments. Amazon has much cheaper versions.

I keep mine in a Maui Jim bag between the shifter and the dash.

Won't work with JL 24 and later, and the roll bar bag won't work on JL 24 and later due to the air bags.

While the console tray is fine, I'd advise anyone against the grab bar tray. If the airbag goes off, stuff there will become shrapnel.

Since I’m an oddball and had to buy a pair of Liquids eight-plus years ago for motorcycle and shooting purposes, my sunglasses don’t fold up lol. So my only option has pretty much been the center console in my last couple vehicles. What’s really aggravating is when I ride in my wife’s car and set them on the dash before I actually need them and she Dukes of Hazzard’s it out of the driveway and they go sailing across the dash. I’m like “Jaysus H! Easy there Daisy!” And I hear Waylon in the background narrating “I bet that young fella wishes he had a pair of fold-up sunglasses…”

I just set mine on the dash. I leave them open, the ends of the arms slightly “wedge themselves” between the top of the dash and the windshield, and they seem to hold just fine. 99% of the time I wear them while driving anyway.

We 3D printed 2 hooks for hand bar on passenger side. Holds my molle' style glasses case next to my hand held ham radio.
