My wife also has a 2026 Wrangler. We bought them with weeks off each other. Her seat is the same.
I called my dealership for you and had a sales guy go out and check the 2026 2drs on the lot and the only way to access the back seat is from the passenger side.

He also climbed in the back and checked the back of the seat for any kind of release lever and there is nothing. Again. Only the passenger seat folds forward.

That is odd that Jeep would do this to the 2-door. I wonder if it is a safety enhancement of some kind instead of Jeep just being cheap. I wonder if they have had a few latching mechanisms for the seat slide fail, allowing the seat to slide far forward in an accident. That would put someone too close to the steering wheel, so when the airbag went off their head would explode. I'm reaching, I know.

On my 2025 both the driver and passenger seats are the same. You pull the lever at the top of the seat to let the seat fold forward, then grab ahold of the seat anyplace else besides that lever and slide it forward. The driver seatback will rest on the steering wheel when all the way forward.

I have been looking for seat covers for my 2-doors front seats and have seen a few that have the cutout for the lever at the top of the seat, but most seat covers do not have that cutout. I thought about it for a moment and decided that you really did not need the cutout or access to that lever. All you had to do is pull the loop that adjust the angle of the seat back so that the seat folded all the way forward, then reach under the front of the seat and pull the lever that lets the seat slide all the way forward. The final seat position is the same either way. The lever on the top of the seat is really just for rear seat passengers, so they can get out without having to have someone else fold and slide the seat forward. I don't have a rear seat so there isn't going to be anybody stranded in the back seat getting heat exhaustion on a hot day.

With four door sales out numbering two door Jeeps, I feel like this is Stellantis cheaping out on the two door model. Instead of building the seat that belongs in it, they just through the four door seat version in there.

It's most probably that, but I also wonder if some arcane "safety" laws are coming into play here. Like on the off chance someone grabs the latch while a person is driving and causes them to lose control of the vehicle. (I'm reaching here, I know, but that's what most of these laws do as well.)

These pictures are with the seat slid as far forward as possible and the recline feature as far forward also. Notice the lack of a latch release on the seat shoulder.

That is dumb. Now I have to figure out how to make this a positive feature for the wife's new ride when we get it..

You can mount an air compressor there since it’s no longer viable for storage. They normally go under the passenger seat, but i had min under the driver’s for a while.

Why in the world did Jeep discontinue the flip forward driver's seat for '26? Ugh! Getting to anything on the floor behind the seat is such a pain now.

I just though I'd mention it for anyone in the market for a '26 Wrangler. Be advised.
My 2021 2-door Rubicon does not have it. Only the passenger seat is "flip forward". The drivers seat does fold forward, but does not flip like the passenger seat.

After watching this video, I now understand that you have no way to flip or fold the driver's seat forward. There is no handle/latch on the top corner of the driver's seat, like the passenger side. This is infuriating! I fold forward my driver's seat on my 2021, 2-door, A LOT!!! Without this feature, I would have to squeeze in between my garage wall and the passenger side of the Jeep to get anything out of the rear seat. What a pain in the neck!!!!!!

My seat, if you use the lever next to the headrest, will reset to the exact place I had it when I push the seat back. Doing it the way you describe requires readjusting the seat travel, and the seat back angle every time.

On a 2 door it is just the drivers side power seat with the X package.
That's wild. We have a 2024 4-door Rubi X and it has both driver and passenger powered seats. Frankly, I'd prefer the manuals like we have in our Sahara, as the power setup makes the seats extra bulky. Also means I can't mount a flashlight on the seat rail on the left side of the driver's seat like I have in the Sahara. Sometimes more is less...

The power drivers seat on a 2 door is a draw back for me also. I would rather have a manual seat.

Can confirm my 2025 does not have the driver-side flip-forward seat either. But I am happy with that. I don't have to worry about the position changing as people climb in and out of the back. I just send them to the passenger side.
