I mean... I don't think this really applies as a "trip journal", but I figured I'd post this here and the mods can move it to the general forum or whatever if they want.
So, the day after Christmas, I drove from Casper, WY to Denver, CO to go to Microcenter and pick up a new case and motherboard for my computer. This is the longest trip I've made in my Jeep so far. It also happened to be during one of the windiest spells we've had all year, and that's saying something for Wyoming. The stretch of I25 between Douglas and Denver is ridiculously windy and had 29 semis blow over I think.

I was very curious what my gas mileage would be. Round trip, it's nearly 600 miles.
I left around 5am and drove I25 the whole way. I went 70mph on the way down - I have a 2.0L 2-door Rubicon on 35" KO3s. Stock suspension.
I gassed up in Cheyenne as I was getting around half a tank. From Cheyenne to Denver I got a dash-computed 21MPG. Best I've ever seen on the Jeep. In town driving to work I get around 14-16mpg.
On the way back, however... lol
I gassed up south of Cheyenne at the same Loves as I gassed up at on the way down. I was down to a half-tank by the time I got to Glendo. Then from Glendo to Casper, I was down another half-tank. Here's a picture of my MPG once I got off I25 and into Casper.
Holy smokes, that wind was ridiculous! It was also an up-hill drive for most of that trip as well. I also decided I wanted to get home quicker, so I actually drove 85mph the whole way.
This was also the first time I really used the adaptive cruise control. It worked great in Denver Interstate traffic - so nice to just set the cruise at the posted speed but let the Jeep keep me a safe distance and consistent speed from the vehicle in front of me.
So yeah - good thing gas is cheap in Wyoming. LOL
