24 years of serving my country. Probably do a few more before I have to grow up and figure out what to wear day to day.
Thank you.

Spent 1 year working at JC Penney’s in the auto department while I went to Tech school. That should age/date me.
Next 47 years spent working for several Engineering firms, across the country. Ground floor of AutoCAD, been in it ever since. Road, bridges, houses, office buildings, hospitals, hotels, motels, airport terminals, stadiums and a bunch more that I can’t remember off hand. I have touched projects in every state of this great land.
Close (months away) from retirement. Last 11 years have been full-time RV living/travel with remote work. Jeep in tow or Jeep towing a camper.
Yes, I do my own “design and fab” of stuff for my Jeep.

System admin, 30 yrs of 24x7 support. I had some college but no degree. The company I work for is going through extensive cost cutting which means I'll be gone soon & then who knows.
It is all about the value you bring. I survived 4 majors layoffs event in my life. At one point I was the only man standing from my team and they make me decommission the data center. Once that was done, I was expecting to be let go but instead they gave me a promotion.

Worked for a So Cal Electric utility for 37 years. Started at the bottom and worked up to middle management. After retirement my replacement asked if I would come back for a few months to finish some projects I was working on. 8 YEARS LATER I said what the hell are you doing, and retired for real.

The wife and I, and our two Boston Terriers, traveled around the country in our motorhome for about 6 years until the wife's health took a hit. Based in So Cal we traveled to the Florida Keys and a 2.5 month trip to Alaska and many places in between.

I now spend my time at home taking care of the wife. I get out about once a week to go grocery shopping and of course get to fire up the 392. Still brings a smile to my face hearing that thing during a cold start!

We now spend our time between So Cal (summer) and Lake Havasu City AZ (winter).

Life is fragile. Enjoy it while you can.

Mine kinda sucks, not Jeepy at all, I am in computers. That's why I jump into my Jeep at every opportunity I get. Learning about thingies in my Jeep puts a big smile on my face. Transfer case fluid change here I come this weekend 🤩👍

I worked in the Michigan Department of Corrections for 25+ years. Retired in 2005. I owned a Jeep for most of my career and always since retirement. I find that the 'FREEDOM' that I experience driving "JOURNEY" helps me manage stress and enjoy every trail life leads me down. Gets me to every golf course I want to play and every backwoods place I go to hunt and fish. I'll be a Jeeper until I can no longer walk in the forest.

26 years as an IBEW electrician so far. Lots of great projects over the years from data centers to power plants to Levi's stadium to the Bay Bridge. I've probably worked at most of the large tech companies being here in the silicon Valley. Google, Apple, Facebook, linked in, Amazon, tesla, lucid motors, and many others. There's no better location to be in the trades in my opinion. From the weather to the wages to quantity and variety of work it doesn't get any better. Living 3 hours from the rubicon keeps me sane. Been wrenching on and wheeling Jeeps for 3+ decades. Having so much fun building our off grid cabin in Northern AZ I've considered getting my contractors license and developing and selling off grid properties, but I don't want to turn something I love into a job. I've seen too many go that route and none of them enjoy what they were once so passionate about anymore.

My career centered around the phrase “to fix what is broken”. Eventually becoming “figure out why it broke and stop it from breaking.” Hence my innate desire to over-engineer just about every damn thing I touch .
I am right there with ya, My wife laughs when something breaks and says " He will either fix it or make it so bad it needs to be replaced". She's right, Been an Engineer for many years.
