Very good!

I'm surprised that truck couldn't make that climb. At first I questioned if he was in 4wd but he was.

Same here, until I saw the front tires spin. Must have been heavy loaded. My Raptor would have walked right up that hill.

Which version of the Insta360 OneX are you using? And, do you use a remote controller with it or just turn it on at the start of the trail?

I'm using an X4 and thinking about getting a remote for it. I've heard varying opinions on the remote.

I like your front bumper mount. I may have to try something like that.

Cool video and use of the insta360 camera. Did you do the framing in the mobile app or Studio? I run an x4 and an x5 using multiple different mounts on my jeep. If you want to check out, look at @ricrecon2003 on YT for my videos. Thanks for sharing.

The camera takes away from those rocks. I walk right up it in my Jeep without thinking about it, but I turned around at that spot in a stock Ram 1500 Rebel at one point. It would have made it, but I didn't want to risk damage. Their truck could have made it with the right line, but evidently they were there for a while and accepted a quick pull to get over the rocks. It was also raining so the rocks were a little slick on those street tires.

I have an x5. I just turn it on at the start of the trail. I tried it with my phone, but it gets disconnected. I'll post how I did the mount sometime - basically a modification of a couple products I bought. It seems to work pretty good.

I copy all the files to a hard drive then use the desktop studio app. I'll check out your videos a little later - gotta run now, but I love seeing what other folks have done! I joke that it's kind of my zen activity to go back and watch these videos - wishing I was on the trail!

Really good video! What was it that sounded like gunshots starting around 1:46?

Similar. I copy to my hard drive and use Studio on a Mac to edit/reframe videos

What product do you use to mount it to the bumper?

What product do you use to mount it to the bumper?
I originally bought this, hoping it would work...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWL5K3BD "NEEWER Triple Suction Cup Car Mount Kit".

but the product was kind of a bust because the suction cups didn't work well. One of them didn't work at all. But I used two parts from this product for the setup I'm running now. I used the bridge piece between two of the suction mounts (with the two suction cups and everything else removed), and I used the extendable camera mounting post - which is a good product by itself.

I mounted the bridge to my license plate holder, which is this product...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DSBXFX8Z "JOYTUTUS Universal Flip-Up License Plate Mount for 10" Hawse Fairlead"

If you get this product, be forewarned that it might not work with your JL OEM fairlead (didn't for me), but you can just buy a new fairlead (all this starts to add up if you follow my path).

To mount the bridge I had to do do a little drilling and pick up some nuts/bolts from the hardware store, but it was straightforward. I also had to put a camera mount bolt on the center so I could install/uninstall the camera mount post when I need to.

I can add some pics later, but it's dark out now. Overall, it's pretty solid. There's some shaking, but the Insta360 x5 makes up for it in whatever hardware stability and software magic it uses (it's really quite incredible how well it stabilizes video under off-roading conditions).

I'm considering using a higher mount after I get a roof rack installed, which will only work well on trip without a lot of tree (like Moab). Most of the Colorado trails I run would run into too many trees if I went much higher than the top of my Jeep. I'll probably still do this for fun, because a higher and more vehicle centered perspective probably looks cool.

I'm not quite to the point where I'm going to install multiple cameras, but I've seen some crazy setups on rigs where people do trail reviews. Looks like a hell of a lot of footage to go through for editing. The Insta360 is nice because it's capturing video in every direction from its position, so you can go back later and focus on whatever you think was most interesting - or even look at the same timeframe from different perspectives.

There were some folks out plinking. When I first started, I heard what sounded like a full-auto go off for about 10 seconds. The shots you hear in the video aren't quite as dramatic. I was wondering if anyone was going to ask if there was something wrong with my Jeep!
