I think I might have an issue with the flux capacitor. I tried and nothing special happened.

Only 4xe has a Flux capacitor. Per recall BK2F you're not supposed to use it.

I dig all the discussion!! I started swapping fenders this weekend. My tires are getting there…by spring I’ll be getting a new set (gonna try to make it through the winter).

Seems like large 35’s are weighing in the mid 70lbs range and about 34.8” at the tallest and the light and small 37’s are around the 69lbs range with 36” being the shortest.

I’m now just as confused as when I started hahaha. I will regear eventually but that’s a job I won’t do myself so it’ll probably cost me around $2500 all said and done. That’s not what I want to invest right now (yeah I know I might invest later when I’m blown up on the trail somewhere).

So still trying to decide. Heavy 35’s that are tall or light 37’s that are short. Almost seems like one half dozen or the other.

Pic with the new front fender…still got the rears to do

What rpm in 6th are you running at 75?
Ok reporting back in with some numbers. At 6th gear at 75mph I’m at 2400rpm. If I keep it in 5th gear at the speed I’m up to 2700rpm.

Just a small sample though. It’s hard to keep the Jeep up to 75 on the freeways around here with all the traffic.

You are about 125 rpm lower than me at the same speed. About what I would expect with 4.88s vs 5.13s..

Does yours struggle to maintain 75 in 6th? I rarely have to downshift at that speed to make it up a normal hill.

Well I guess it doesn’t really struggle once I’m up to speed. If it’s a big hill I’d downshift to 5th.

I’m also slowly noticing a difference now that I have the new engine. I think my old one was showing signs of issues way before I really noticed them.

What speed/rpm are you shifting from 5th to 6th?

Jumping in on this a little, however, I've got a different powertrain here a bit then the 3.6 like you all have with the eTorque.

That said, gears ration neded for 35s or 37s, are always needed and you should always match. If you can't do gearing at the same time you do lift+tires, I guess you gotta start somewhere so you either get gears like 4.88-5.13s with your 31-32s, which yeah probably not impressive and over geared by miles :P or you could go with 35s until you are able to get 37s + gears, but then you buy 3 vs 2. You could also go with 37s for 6 months to a year or so with a regear in mind down the road, sooner then later. Don't wait till your Jeep got 150k on it to regear, putting 37s at 10k.

Whatever you do, it aint going to be cheap, gears cost as much as those 37s + wheels. You could get lighter tires, or BFG that are named 37s but come in at 35.5 or 36s if you measure well.

My plan with my 4xe is to first go with 37s, so I'm not spending stupid cash on 35s, and spending that stupid cash twice, and while it might be dog from start with 3.73 I think I'll be able to live with it for a year till I'm able to drop gears in. Like I said, I might have a different opinion / feeling about it with the torque difference between 4xe and 3.6, something I guess we will see. What can be worse, I don't like it and will sell 37s, or regear. I don't do much trails of any, lately with no time in my schedule so for at least a year or two I've got local roads that I'm driving on and I'm not flooring it off the line with my 31s either. I know its there and I know I can pass anyone any day, but Jeep wasn't meant to be a rocket, its not a ferarri 392 either :P

Just my thought and opinion.

I think a heavy 35 will feel faster than a lighter 37's......i run two sets of 35's one set tire/wheel combo is 108lbs the other set wheel tire combo 88lbs...seat of the pants there is no difference in how they feel on the road...a while back I swapped my buddy's 37's toyos on (about the same weight as my 108lb combo) and while I did not hate it I did not love how it felt either...swapped back to the heavy 35's and it just felt seat of the pants faster..

Let us know how that fares. Intentionally I stuck with 35s on my 4xe Rubicon vs 37s. It's a big load difference and you're increasin the load on the heaviest Wrangler possible before accounting for any people/gear. I bet you decrease battery range 25% in town with the additional work when accelerating. If you have any power train or battery issue slap those stock tires and wheels on prior to taking it in for any possible repair work.

Not a fan of the electric range or mode, I’m always in hybrid with depleted battery so not really worried about battery range but rather ability to drive it be that engine and electric, without going to 10MPGs with the 2.0. I will regear at some point here but probably a year and a half of just 3.73 with 37s.

I'm sure to regret this but why buy a 4xe if you're never going to use that system? You have a much heavier, therefore less fuel efficient, version of the Wrangler, which flies in the face of your statement that you don't want to push down your MPG. And you want to install 37s which absolutely will drive down MPG while denying yourself addtional 200+ ft-lbs of torque to turn the 37s. This is the logic I associate with the Federal Government.
