Hey all. My name is Bill (you can call me wish, it’s my initials) and I have a Jeep problem.

The problem wasn’t marrying into them, it was that they accumulated.

We just got a 2018 JULR that we plan to use as our primary vehicle. It’s allowing our 1995 ZJ (>330,000 miles) to go into a semi-retirement while we fix up the rust issues underneath. The 84 2dr XJ Chief (>210,000 miles) is the other Jeep we have here and our son is in Colorado with his 71 SJ (bright blue, you’ll know it if you see it). The JLUR is also out there at the moment as he picked it up in NE for us, so we haven’t even driven it yet.

The JL currently has quite a few tweaks to it and I won’t be too surprised to find it in one of the threads here. It’s Punkin and spent its life in Colorado. Goodies seem to include 35s on Black Rhino rims, winch, RockHard front bumper, Rugged Ridge tailgate hinge, and probably a few things I haven’t even noticed yet. If you know the rig I’m interested in what the history of it is. We’ll be putting it through some light work in the SouthWest this summer.

The search for a new-to-us vehicle was helped immensely by the resources here and we will certainly continue to leverage the search function as we learn more bout our first 21st century vehicle (the 96 Mustang was the newest until the JL).

After 30+ years of having 4-wheelers off and on, I finally picked up my first Jeep. I like being able to explore while on a road trip and those "high clearance 4x4 required" signs always had me questioning if my current rig was really equipped right for it. Photo below is at ~300 miles on it's first "Jeep Road" where it was seriously overkill.

My last 4x4 was the 2024 Toyota Landcruiser (250) and while it did have center and rear lockers, it didn't have a lot of ground clearance. The spare tire was in a crap location and couldn't fit anything larger than a 33. Then there were all the digital nannies freaking out when you'd look out the side window, approach a corner, or (god forbid) let a branch brush against the windshield.
I do miss having a true hard-top that could carry stuff without needing reinforcements, but I appreciate how much simpler the JL is compared to other modern 4x4s.

I'm hoping to just use the forum for finding the best mods and not for troubleshooting defects and other issues.

After a few years of stalking, finally joined. Austin here from north west Illinois, drive a 2023 3.6 JLUXR that I factory ordered sight unseen and without a single test drive.

Mainly a BMW enthusiast, my only other comparable vehicles were an XJ and 2014 Tocoma, but was a military truck driver for 10 years so have a basic understanding of being off pavement. Looking forward to getting to know the platform better!

My old truck crapped out on me, always wanted a jeep so here we are! I’m Kyle, from central Florida. Bought a 2021 unlimited 80th edition in sarge green. Absolutely beautiful vehicle, love everything about it.

It’s my first jeep and also my daily. I was worried about road noise at highway speed but it isn’t bad. My truck was just about as loud, according to a decibel app I found. Haven’t taken it off pavement yet, theres Citrus WMA near me that looks promising. Can’t wait to see what she can do!

Hello All!!

I just bought my Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4D 3.6 on Saturday. I have wanted a Jeep for years, so now I have entered the Jeep world!!

Mine has a few small mods, but I plan to add a few more soon.

I have driven mostly Expeditions since 2001, but about two weeks ago a pickup truck failing to yield killed my last one. My other cars include my 1989 Pontiac Trans Am, my wife's 2016 Buick Enclave, and, of course, my 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV.

I look forward to learning from you all and contributing whatever little knowledge I have.

Thank you for letting me join you all!

New to the forum. I have been driving this JK for the last ten years and while I love it, I am probably moving to a two door JL and starting the whole process over again. There is a dealership in Texas that has a really nice low mileage Stinggray JLR that I was going to fly down and drive back, but they don't have the title for it yet. If they don't screw me over, I should be able to pick it up next week.

Hi All! My son is getting his license soon and will be taking over my car, so figured it would be a good time to tackle my Jeep itch again! I've had a couple YJ's in the past, but needed something newer for everyday use... so purchased this used 2022 Wrangler. Love it so far! 2-door, manual, and soft top (all 3 of which seem to be rare these days). I'm used to 5-speed manuals, so took some time getting used to the reverse gear setting on this 6-speed :).

I look forward to utilizing this forum in the future. I foresee a post or two in a few months, if/when I'm struggling with taking off the top and doors .

Howdy friends -

Been lurking for weeks trying to study up...just pulled the trigger on a new-to-me 2018 Unlimited Sport S. Its pretty much stock...but that was what I was looking for. I've always wanted a Wrangler and now that we live in the UP I'm looking forward to the higher clearance and 4x4 capabilities.

Had a Jeep Commander before...but very excited about entering this new world.
