Omg, my local dealer got not one, but two 2 doors in today...

A loaded black sport S (would rather get a no frills Rubicon for close to that price), and a white base sport with a limited slip.

I am torn between liking the spartan no frills nature of the base sport, and kinda wanting to go full gonzo and wait for the red rubi they have coming in transit.

Atleast I can go test drive a 2 door and decide how well I fit at least!

Am pretty excited, like a kid with Christmas finally coming
I would go for the rubicon myself. I’m a novice, but Rubi=no regrets!

I would guess she might say as I do.... "upstate NY" I hate it when people think I live in "The City" I am in the country, although there are now a lot of weekend city people here so its getting time to move north I think to a town like it used to be here.
Well, Hillsdale is only 120 miles from NYC, so for some of us, that classifies as being there since it is so close. I can drive about that distance in Houston and still be in the Houston metro area.

I was looking at getting a 2018 JL Rubicon 2 door, almost fully loaded, with a MSRP quoted on Jeeps website at about $43.5k. The price it quoted me, with a $2k down payment and a $2596 dealer discount based on amounts I was trying to knock off/negotiate off the MSRP, I got Jeeps website to display approx $384/mo. Some of these numbers aren’t exact but my point is I did this maybe 4-5 days ago. I looked again now and made the same build I did before and now the lease price is $650~ range!

Is there website not working right maybe? Or did they internally drop their residual values to the 30% range or something??

I was quite confused why it skyrocketed.
Welcome to forum! Will let others answer some of your questions, but I am surprised at the great price for the loaded Rubicon; 43.5 is fantastic in my opinion

Well, after a nice rest in her new home last night, I took Stormie out this morning to play.

You may have confused the lease with the buy!

Ya Rubi is a nice package but its also 12k+ more. Lot easier to write that check for under 30k
Dude PW bro you know you wanna get in on the JL Sport club. Join us as we walk the blessed bath, truly doing the lords work. :)

Do it! Order one! No grayscale colors! No thinking! Just do it!

No I double checked - the buy was like $709 or $759 (around there) and lease was $609-$659. That’s why I was so shocked bc the leasing was always much much cheaper. Those prices make it look like something is wrong bc keeps website gave me proper calculations the other day.

Its white, I guess thats an extreme on the gray scale? It looks good with the black hard top though. and its got the limited slip for that amazing 3 wheel drive to get out of trouble.

Manual transmission and windows reminds me of being a kid again I guess. It makes no sense but its an upgrade to me lol

That three wheel drive works pretty well with how much flex a Wrangler has. I'm personally an "interesting colors only" Wrangler snob, but that's just me!

You don't have to convince me on the last bits. I went manual transmission, manual windows and locks over here. I'm extremely excited to get back into a simple vehicle again. My 87 4Runner arguably had more features than my JL will. But the top and doors come off this thing.

And like you said, price. Before TTL my price was well under $30,000. I'm not interested in a forty five thousand dollar... Wrangler. It was hard enough to overcome the JL double price bump.

I hear ya, would love a blue, red or green (sting gray is cool too, its not a standard look), BUT its there now sitting for sale!

The red rubi coming with 4:11s and lockers would be the thing that could hold me to waiting... (I feel like a little kid with Santa coming lol)

I really advocate you being a patient boi and placing an order to your exacting specifications (and you'll get a good discount doing that).

You'll have exactly what you want.

Also it's pretty whack that non-Rubicons only have 3.55's. Woulda been nice for the 3.73 option to remain.

Nah, 4 dealers with in close range, and no rush. Wranglers are like apples you gotta look through the batches to find that perfect one.
