To summarize this 15-page thread in one sentence:

ACC may be coming, along with some random color called bikini.

There, I just saved you 20 minutes of reading through an extensive ACC debate and that fact that no one really knows what the color "bikini" might be.

Happy 4th of July, especially to our service men and women!
Thank you!

The rumor , jeeps using previous challenger impact colors and renaming them but paint code remains the same.
Paint code (PHP) Bikini = Furious Fuchsia Pearl ?
Yeah, I guess fuchsia could be bikini...

Now that’s a nice looking “bikini”. Wouldn’t mind a ride once she’s topless.

Happy 4th to all who served, are currently serving or just love this great United States of America!

That ride probably costs more than the new Rubicon.

I bet they will fix everything for the 2019. Steering drift, drain plug, infotainment bugs, etc. It's probably difficult to fix some of these things on the 2018 without significant redesign.

Maybe... I have to wonder how much the lead time is on being able to design a new vehicle and implement it in production. They're not designing an entirely new vehicle like the car manufacturers used to do each year, but they're also not like the old VW Beetles where you could swap parts across a very large range of years. I don't particularly like it when manufacturers think that they can get away with making their customers act as their beta testers instead of doing proper testing themselves.

I guess it would depend on how the issues are fixed. Does the part need to be redesigned? If so, does the redesign affect how it's installed? How much needs to change to accommodate the fix? Is it being installed incorrectly on the line? Defective? So Many questions.

A piece of advice my uncle gave me was to wait till the 2nd year of a new model. :/

With software, it's always been v3 that was usually the first one you could really trust...

We're paying to be beta testers for FCA... Paying a pretty good penny for that "privilege" too... :(

Might wait on MY20 if I go diesel to see how that Gen 2 handles. Still may not know all the issues for years so it seems we the buyers will always be the testers on our dime. How long did it take to workout the kinks on the 3.6 Pentastar?

Software is easier to fix than hardware problems.

The problem today is the rush to get the product to consumers. Some things get missed/ignored.

I wish they would add proximity door lock/unlock on the Sport S. That's really the only reason I'd want to upgrade to a Sahara.

Too often they have the attitude of "it compiles, so ship it"... :(

Another problem these days is that we have these kiddie engineers who are just adding features that they think are "neat" so that they can put it on their resumes. They decide to implement something that replaces a tried and true method, but then they have to make tons of other hacks to it to make up for all the capability that was lost.

Wouldn’t you have hit the car in front of you had you gone 75? That’s the point of ACC and why you were at 65. Pass the car in either lane and it resumes to 75. ACC isn’t for people who don’t pay attention. Those types of people would crash with or without ACC. It doesn’t make you a worse driver. :)
No...because I would have done this crazy thing..."tapped the brakes"...or...since there was open lane to the left, simply switched lanes.
