Here's a very thorough, and I believe fair review of the 4XE's tech. A lot here to think about.

I think it's been well established that when working as designed it's one of the best wranglers ever designed next to the 392.

Its achilles heel has been and will always be its piss poor reliability and build quality. Fortunately just about everything is covered under that 10 year hybrid warranty. If you don't mind the frequent dealer visits or buggy software than they're a good vehicle to lease, especially with the incentives. and if you can make the most out of its electric range.

When that warranty ends they will be practically worthless, same as any other BEV/PHEV/Hybrid. You're also hard restricted to having it serviced only at the dealer for most issues.

I personally owned a 2021 4XE. I remember bringing it in for its first oil change and the service advisor was flabbergasted when he saw it had three pages worth of recalls and RSUs to complete. I owned the vehicle for 6 months before trading it in on a 392. The vehicle never charged right and had piss poor gas mileage. I didn't own it long enough for the ECH to fail, the water outlet to start pissing coolant, or the battery exploding.

I'm also a dealer tech who works on the 4XEs on a daily basis.

ā€œBlah blah blah, blah blah blah.ā€ ?

One perspective is not applicable to all circumstances. ā€œPick your poison,ā€ and be done with it. But again, this is MY humble opinion. ?

I will point out, the local dealers have OVERSTOCK on 4xe configuration.

A Wrangler with piss poor mileage that doesn't sound normal.
I averaged ~14.2 driving cross country without towing anything. My 392 got 14.7 on the way back towing my trailer. It's poor by even wrangler standards.

It's all fun and smiles until you're averaging 80-85MPH on a 3k mile road trip

You would think he would be ashamed to show his face after the basic mistakes he made on his previous 4xe review.

Jeep problem is that they have to depend on dealerships techs that can't even do a regular oil change competently, they can't even fix the regular 3.6 Wranglers.

Nope… well… sort of (the political fanatics have been wanting to make it such).
