Purchased a JLU wrangler Sport S for my wife earlier this year. Quickly replaced the stock wheels and tires with Black Rhino wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 285-70R 17s. Love the look and ride of the tires but they are absolutely useless on the wer asphalt. I have read so many different reviews, comments and threads regarding tires. Currently looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs. Looking for honest feedback to make a good decision. Dont want to continue to waste money on tires that aren't reliable. Any input would be appreciated
I've come very close to buying Yokohama Geolander but have not pulled the trigger yet. They weigh less than most. My K02 are near the end of their life, but they've been good for 45k. Also ran General Grabber in the past with good results.

Pulled the trigger Saturday and went with the M/T Baja Boss ATs. So far so good. Smooth ride, noise isn't bad at all and wet traction seems to be great! I will update more after this week. We Are expecting 10-13 inches of rain between now and Saturday

Outstanding...

Did y'all buy the Light Truck or the SUV version of the Baja Boss?

I'm looking at the 285/70r17's...

I had yokos on my tj. They are solid tires for sure but they did spin bad on wet roads at least after they were a couple years old. They may have redesigned them since i had them. I bought mine about 7 years ago. Good wear and they have great non spongy side walls

My Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3s have been outstanding in all conditions, including standing water, which is an issue for many on the highway. Only issue with them, due to the E load rating, is some additional noise that has increased as they've gotten older. That said, they have about 40K miles on them and I still have a lot of tread depth left. They have taken a beating on- and off-road, including a 3 1/2" nail in the first 3 weeks I owned them that didn't penetrate the air chamber. They are really outstanding in almost every category. Highly recommended if you don't mind a bit of extra noise due to the massive tread lugs.

That is the size i am running. Didn't go with the 10ply.
Did you buy a set of 5...if so, did you have to modify the spare tire carrier for this larger diameter tire or did it fit without rubbing the bumper?

We have been using the KO2s on our Jeep love them good ride and great traction, put them on my F250 as well but the the truck did not like the front one's at all getting death wobble but stock run fine. looking at a possible bad tire or rim as they were purchased with rims.

Last year we went with the Cooper Rugged Trek and are beyond happy, probably put 10-15k miles on them. A few weeks ago on our way to skiing we drove through a very rural area with yet to be plowed backroads (there was about 4 inches down so far at the time) and went up very steep roads and got up impressive hills in 2WD just to see. Not too much road noise and so far wear has been even. We've been on a few trails and they performed well.

No issues at all. I highly recommend them.
Concur. Mine have been great on wet, which I got to test again a lot this week here in San Antonio as we had Noah's Ark downpours for three days in a row. The deep treads really help with water handling. I hit a massive pool of water I didn't see coming due to spray from the vehicles in front of me. Couldn't see crap for several seconds after hitting it, but despite that and me gripping the steering wheel so tight I left imprints as I kept it straight, I never lost control and got through it. Was rather sporty, but glad I had deep treads or I would have been hydroplane city...
