Purchased a JLU wrangler Sport S for my wife earlier this year. Quickly replaced the stock wheels and tires with Black Rhino wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 285-70R 17s. Love the look and ride of the tires but they are absolutely useless on the wer asphalt. I have read so many different reviews, comments and threads regarding tires. Currently looking at the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs. Looking for honest feedback to make a good decision. Dont want to continue to waste money on tires that aren't reliable. Any input would be appreciated

You should look into buying used sets of tires in the area.
You can usually find ATs with decent tread leftover on the various local online marketplaces all the time.
Find sets of 4/5. Put 'em on. See how they do.
Figure out what you like, and then buy a set of 5 freshies in that make/model.

You're not going to find a lot of anything truly definitive on a forum.
I think my KO2s are fantastic in the wet and the dry and the snow and the ice. But a lot of people don't like them for whatever reason.

But buy a set. hate it? sell it. Buy another set. Rinse and repeat.
Off-road folks buy and sell their used tires all the time.

I have Mickey Thompson BB AT 37s. I like these a lot. Can't give much input on wet conditions. But in the little wet conditions I have driven them, they felt good. They have a lot of siping, which should be a good thing for wet conditions

You should post what your priorities are. Wet traction. Noise. Offroad capability. Etc.

As said above, I like KO2’s for everything. But if I were looking for something more road oriented, I may look at something like Bridgestone Revo’s. Or Michelin AT2.

My priorities would be dependable on wet roads and living in SWLA offroad capabilites are equally as important. Some noise is expected from ATs. I really appreciate everyone responding

There are a lot of good tires on the market to choose from. Something to consider; how much off-roading you're going to do. More often, I would want a more aggressive tread, infrequent off-road use I would want a less aggressive tread.

Falken Wildpeak have treated me better than stock by far. and they are quiet on the highway.

I purchased my 2018 JLU Sport S in September and it came with MT Baja Boss ATs, 35x12.5x17. So far I really like them. They are quiet for a fairly aggressive tread, and are balanced so well that on the interstate they roll as smooth as any tire I have ever had. I’ve had multiple sets of BF KO2s on previous F150s. They lasted a long time and were good in the rain, but were difficult to balance and you could hear them more than the MTs.

I replaced the KO2’s with Toyo AT3, they are definitely better in wet, better ride, not near the rock magnet, but slightly louder due to a little more aggressive tread, and the lightest 3 peak for 35/12.50– 315/70 at 59 lbs. very pleased

These KO2s have quite a wide range of capabilities
Never had an issue on the Rubicon over 5 years
50% worn they can still do everything we need easy
Dry wet snow ice gravel rocks - no probs at all

As noted - some seem to have major issues in wet
But simply slowing down a bit solves that for us

They are an AT - so expect compromises
Do have a spare take off set with wheels as backup
Kinda a tried and true OEM tire on many 4x4 vehicles
Perfectly fine for getting up and down ski resorts
Which is 100% why we bought this beast

I put on Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's this past summer and they were great both on an off road and are beasts now in the snow. I live on a steep mountain road and just switch to 4H and there is no slipping or sliding and then back to 2H and they plow through snowdrifts like a champ.. I have had BF KO2's before and these to me are far superior.. They also have the
"snowflake" rating
