Meh, I did do the front when I did mine, but I started off higher and did 2" in front.would you bother adding one when lifting it 1-1.5"?
Nowould you bother adding one when lifting it 1-1.5"?
thanks. I think thats for a JK though. Will it still fit?https://www.quadratec.com/p/crown-automotive/leveling-kit-wrangler-jk-RT21035
Use this skip the bump extensions. Drive for a while and decide if you need to do more. The Mopar arms would be a good idea, but maybe not necessary. Track bars would be a waste of time and resources. With this lift your Jeep will still be shorter than the XR package Jeeps that come from the factory with the stock control arms and front track bar that you have now.
LCAs can be installed on the ground, two bolts each. They gotta be torqued hard though. Thanks everyone. I talked to the guy at teraflex and he said to do the JL (2 door) kit with 1" upfront and 1.5 in the rear. Then I'll add / stack a .5" spacer on each of the fronts... giving me 1.5 all around.
@20-Willys - I will do LCA's probably at one point... but if I just do the 1.5" spacers I'm thinking I should be ok? Sounds like you're above a 2" lift with the springs and spacers. But, I also might buy them since they are cheap and have the shop install since I don't want to make multiple shop visits. Unless they are easy to install with a lift/tires off.
No, I should have double checked before linking that. The front would work but JL springs are a different size at the rear mount.thanks. I think thats for a JK though. Will it still fit?
If you are having a shop do the install, go ahead and get the control arms now and do it all at once while they’re in there. They’re literally $70 or so and a cheap upgrade. If you were doing the install yourself, you could just wait and install later, but you may as well get it out of the way now and be done with it. I’ve heard people say they didn’t notice a difference, but I don’t recall anyone ever saying their steering/handling was worse. Thanks everyone. I think my only hesitation is being level or a little nose high if towing or stuff in the back. I don't like the level look, never really understood looking nose high. However in the pic above earlier in the thread and from what you're saying... doesn't seem to look bad? I come from the tacoma mod world and we used to make fun of the trucks trying to be "level" when it was really more like nose-high. I guess I'm just scared of that. Plus, keeping it at 1.5 will most likely make the need for more mods (like CA's and trackbars)not needed... but again, correct me if I'm wrong. Oh and yeah, undecided on the front bumper but since this is my daily as well, I don't really think I'll get a new bumper. But we all know how that goes... in a year I'll be looking for lightweight steel bumpers lol.If you are having a shop do the install, go ahead and get the control arms now and do it all at once while they’re in there. I see you are dead set on stacking to achieve 1.5” all around. Do you have a rake to correct or plans to add a steel bumper? I only ask because most people go with the leveling kit, which is 1.5” with an extra 1/2” up front (i.e., 2”) to reduce the rake and/or support a bumper or winch. I know a half inch may matter, but it’s literally just a half inch ?.
EDIT: I installed some 34’s and the 1.5” leveling kit. My wife thought the increased height was just due to the tires (i.e., lift not really noticeable)
