Getting new 8.5”- 1mm wheels replacing stock 7.5”- 44mm. Will the Teraflex snug it back to stock position ? (eliminating camera-sensor issues) ? presently using Teraflex relocation “lift and separate” Playtex bra style brackets. The spare will stick way out.Teraflex is another carrier that allows this. You can chose to add their hinge at a later date as well, if you feel it's necessary. I have hinge replacement and adjustable carrier and love them both.
Even had one of the first batches of the JK version, before they had even added their logo to it, and it is in better shape than just about any other part on that Jeep after ~10 years of abuse. (I know the new owner)
this might be the way i need to go im watching a video and i JUST make what they say is the minimum offset it can go. It says it goes 5 min i measured mine like they said and im 5.25 so im thinking this will get me back close like a factory tire right?Teraflex is another carrier that allows this. I don't have backup sensors on my Jeep so I couldn't tell you for sure, but you may be able to lift the tire higher with the adjustable bracket than the static version to clear the sensor's path.Getting new 8.5”- 1mm wheels replacing stock 7.5”- 44mm. What is your backspacing on the new wheels?this might be the way i need to go im watching a video and i JUST make what they say is the minimum offset it can go. It says it goes 5 min i measured mine like they said and im 5.25 so im thinking this will get me back close like a factory tire right?
I’m good 8.5”- 1mm with 35/12.50’s virtually identical. 59 lb Toyo’s and 21 lb forged wheels a couple lbs lighter than stock 7.5’s and 285/70’s. Perfect, Thanks ? I have the Teraflex various size spacer kit, if needed, just the large spacers on now. (3’rd relocation, start cheap, go next step higher, then get what I should have in the first place—I don't have backup sensors on my Jeep so I couldn't tell you for sure, but you may be able to lift the tire higher with the adjustable bracket than the static version to clear the sensor's path.
I've run both my stock wheel/tire as well as my current 8.5" wide (0 offset) wheels with XR take-off 35's and have no issues with the camera. I can see the tire a tad more than with the stock setup, but it definitely doesn't impede visibility and the tire is pushed in tight with room to go for different setups. I did swap my hinge to the Teraflex reinforcement at the same time though, so if you only swap to the adjustable carrier, it's not exactly apples to apples.
Need chintzy hood locks, hard slick floor mats, junk wheel lugs and locks, or a couple spare relocations- in the garage ….. . I might have finally learned— uh maybe. ?4.06? i used online calculator and plugged in my wheel width and offset because its stamped on the wheel i didnt see an offset looking number lolWhat is your backspacing on the new wheels?
I find it easier to compare wheel setups/clearance by backspacing because it's a measurement of the space between the mounting surface (on wheel) and the inside lip.
Keep in mind, your tire is probably wider than your wheel, so all you need is for the rubber isolators to reach the tire with enough support to stop vibrations. You can also get longer isolators if needed.
Hello Georgia neighbor! What is your specific width, offset and tire combo? There are tons of mount and extended snubber options out there, so unless we’re talking 22x12’s with a -80 offset, I’d bet someone here has the same combo and can provide some solid details.4.06? i used online calculator and plugged in my wheel width and offset because its stamped on the wheel i didnt see an offset looking number lol
I have the Teraflex setup. It kept my stock rubicon wheel (6” backspace) with 35x12.5 tires tight to the tailgate. I now have 4.5” backspace Methods with 37x12.5 mounted tight to the tailgate. You shouldn’t have any trouble, it’s very adjustable.this might be the way i need to go im watching a video and i JUST make what they say is the minimum offset it can go. Indeed, that thing is hanging out there pretty good. The good news is that your street tire combo is considerably lighter than most larger AT’s and MT’s. You can probably get by for now with some extended snubbers to reduce the vibration, but I’d definitely invest in a new adjustable mount at some point to snug it up tight on the tailgate and reduce the stress.20 x 9 with 305/50/r20 street tire i think its like a 32 x 12 in size its barely taller than stock tire but its wider![]()
