That's what I thought; there's an X here that was delivered without. Likely a factory oversight.

Been a little over a week but picked up from Koons in Tysons Corner, VA on 9/9! Whole process took a couple hours and was super smooth. I couldn’t recommend them enough, very responsive with updates whenever I reached out. First Wrangler and I couldn’t be happier!!

Timeline:

C: 7/18
D1: 8/3
E: 8/9
KZ: 8/10
KZM: TBD (but I believe 9/5 or 9/6)
KZX: 9/6
Pickup: 9/9

The KZ wait was annoying but worth it in the end!

Anvil looks great - congrats! I placed my order 1 day after you on July 19 and still stuck in C :(

Manual transmission V6 aren't being built, and now with the UAW strike at the Jeep plant don't expect to see if until next year.

Thank you!! Hoping the strike is quick and they start building the manuals soon!

I took delivery of my 4dr Rubicon X 3.6 AT last Tuesday, 9/19. Flew to Nashville to pick it up from Gupton Motors and drove it back to Fort Worth. Left Springfield TN (just north of Nashville) at about noon and got to Fort Worth at 2AM. I had originally planned to spend a day near Hot Springs AR to break the new Jeep's offroad cherry, but in the end, I just wanted to get home as soon as I could.

I bought from Gupton because they offered me the lowest price after I checked with several dealers. Renee ( [email protected] ) was my sales rep. She did a great job throughout the whole process and it turned out to be the most painless new-car purchase I ever made. Also want to thank Maynor who picked me up at the airport and drove me to the dealership, free of charge. He was timely and personable.

Here are the details from start to finish:

C - Order Confirmed: 7/11/23
D1 - Scheduled: 7/21/23
E - In Production: 8/24/23
KZ - Vehicle Built: 8/27/23
Arrived at Dealer: 9/4/23
Took Delivery: 9/19/23

Here are a few more tidbits:

1. I read here that Wranglers are often delivered with over inflated tires. That was true in my case. Recommended tire pressure is 37 psi, mine were at 42. That probably accounts for some of the bumpy ride.

2. Although I'm not new to off roading, this is my first Wrangler. I found the ride to be somewhat bumpy (maybe call it stiff suspension) and the steering didn't track like a $500k sports car, go figure. That said, the ride and steering met my expectations, maybe even better than expected, what with all the complaining I read in this forum.

3. Road noise was better than expected. It was there, but certainly not as bad as I thought it would be.

4. Had good weather for the first 650 miles, then rain and wind for the last 100 miles. My average mileage was 20.9 mpg when I hit the rain and wind. By the time I got home I was down to 17.4 mpg.

5. First two Jeep Wave encounters: Both times I was still in the first 60 miles so I was driving about 45 mph. The first guy gave me the standard jeep wave, but it caught me off guard, so I didn't think to return the wave. Funny, but I still feel like I was rude or something. The second wave was when another Wrangler passed me. He had his top off and blew past me at god only knows what speed (he was haulin' a**). As he passed me he stuck his arm straight up in the air and wave back and forth with the two-finger wave. Thought that was kinda cool.

Ok, that's all I can think of for now. I'm going to go up to the dear lease next week and get some dirt on my new Jeep!

Congrats! Looks great with the XR wheels. Impressive mpg with 35's. What do you think of the 3.6L? Did you debate going 2.0T?

Also for those where not standard...the hitch is like $75 and while you need a torque wrench, the install is super easy
Mine came with hitch, but it's class II. I'll be installing class III to take advantage of the new higher towing capacity.

Bottom line up front: I'm pretty happy with the 3.6 so far. I've been in the market for a jeep for about two years. At first, I thought I wanted to go with the 3.6. Mostly because it's been around so long and I figured there was a better chance it wouldn't have problems. But then I began focusing on all the threads about 3.6 vs 2.0T in this forum and others. I drove both versions and found the 2.0T to have a little more pep than the 3.6. By the start of this summer I had pretty much settled on a 2.0T. Essentially, I decided to let the peppiness outweigh the concern of the turbo system requiring more maintenance. The fact that the 2.0T was $2K cheaper also weighed heavily in its favor. Before I got around to placing an order, they stopped offering the 2.0T on the Rubicon X.

Well, sh*t. If I wanted a Rubicon X any time soon I was going to have to go with the 3.6. After two years of diddling around trying to may a purchase decision I figured I was running out of time (I'm old) and needed to go ahead and order. I didn't like the idea of having to pay a couple thousand more for an engine that wasn't my first choice, but I ordered it any way. Once I placed my order, confirmation bias set in and I began to notice more and more favorable comments about the 3.6. By the time I picked up my Wrangler I was actually pretty happy I went with the 3.6. It's gonna be fine, but I still don't like having to pay 2 grand more for it.

The manual calls for brief full-throttle acceleration while cruising during the break-in period. I did that a few times and I was surprised how powerful it felt. Sounded pretty good, too.

Regarding the mileage, yes, I too thought it was impressive. However, during the break-in period (300 miles) I kept it at 55 mph or lower, so I'm sure that helped a lot. Once I passed 300 miles I cranked it up to 65 to 70 mph and the mpg started to suffer. Then when I hit the rain and head winds the mpg really took a hit.

Picked up my rubicon yesterday after giving up on my original order. My dealer found me this beauty and had it ready in less then 48 hours. So excited to officially join the Jeep community and to start a new adventure. ?

Thank you for sharing @Katmunster and congratulations. I placed my order on May 31st and while I was on the "final inspection" step, the strike started.

Your rig looks like a Rubicon X, 2.0 L. Is that correct? Did you get a deal below MSRP or below invoice?

Thank you, yes it’s a Rubicon X 2.0L. I didn’t get much of a discount (I’m in Canada) and have not seen any on the lot for the Rubicon that didn’t have the sky one touch. It seems prices have gone up as well and the dealer was only able to come down a little bit (barely worth mentioning ?). But they were really great in dealing with me being so impatient on waiting on the actual order. Since this one had everything I wanted I just went for it before we get all the heavy snow as my old car was starting to have issues in the winter. The dealer did give me a great trade in for my car which also helped my decision on just getting one that was on another dealers lot instead of waiting for my order. Only difference between my original order and this was colour (had anvil originally) and this one had a duel option which I was looking to get in the summer anyway.
sorry for the long post just excited ?

Did you loose you YOY Price Protection… I’m pretty sure that your original order (if 2023 or before year model) had it ?

I did not get the same price as my order was because the price protection was only on my actual order. I know I probably got screwed a bit but they did discount a bit to make it closer to the original price. It was my first time buying a jeep and a long time since I bought a new car at all. I was just happy to get one with all the delays that I saw here. Probably should have tried to wait for the original order or fight a bit more for the price.

Don’t worry although I have the YOY, I’m still paying more than I should… At the end I’m getting a Rubicon that is costing me more than an Rubicon X… and on top of that I won’t have the leather interior nor the painted fenders that I wanted !!
