Not sure what my top speed is at this point. I just know it's no longer 97.

Did you do something to disable the limiter? ?

I had a tune installed on my secondary PCM. I had asked the tuner if it was possible to remove the limiter and he had strongly recommended against that and told me the same thing everyone on here said about how dangerous it is.

I got a friend out in Van alstyne who has quite a bit of land. His driveway is like 3 mi long. Once you crest that first hill, it's basically down and then straight for about a mile and a half until you hit this sharp right angle that leads to his house. I was able to hit 99 on the way to his house, and honestly was a little bit mind blown. I know for a fact that there's no way that should be possible. So I grabbed that photo on the way out I hit 103 before I was coming up on that hill and had to slow down so I didn't jump all the way into Howe! (The next city over)

When I emailed the tuner, and he said he's strongly recommends against it, I thought that was the end of it. I guess he gave me an Easter egg.

OMG— Now even the tuners who’s sole purpose is to increase performance are saying it’s dangerous, recommended against. The only speed limiter/ torque management/ traction control or other fuel saving computer (MDS) BS should be your right foot unless you Choose to enable them with a control. My first speed limited vehicle was an 89 Bronco and was I pissed when it wouldn’t go over 85. Hell, my 69 GTX was limited to ~170mph…..still accelerating but where the front end achieved lift-off. All the vehicle is capable of doing— a proper speed-limiter.

My new 67 GTX 440 w/6 pack use to cruise at 140 +mph on those straight Flatt road between Minolta and Dodge City back when I was 18 and looking girls and beer. Hell I am 75 now glad to be driving one mph over rocks and dirt sipping sweet tea.

Yep— the top tier muscle cars would run. Rules for 69 required 500 production to race as a “stock” car. Mine was eng ser #HP 360 ( 60 something) . Minimum 100 Octane, when we lost it during the 70’s oil embargo it couldn’t be de-tuned enough to not detonate. Traded it for a Harley.

It's funny I still drive the same, but when you need the power, it's nice to have it.

There's always situations on the road where your options are either slow down or speed up. I usually choose to slow down, but when I have to speed up, it's nice to have the capabilities to do it proficiently.

Absolutely- i had a 65 mi commute from the foothills to the valley on a two lane state hwy with occasional passing lanes. Passing a lake, sawmill, chicken ranches, and a main route to mtn communities/recreation. Big rigs, sightseers, the boats and RV’s From Hell , some who spent the day getting fueled by the grape or hops. Frequent Oh-Sh!t WOT moments. Need all I can get.
