Same. I was looking at earl but when I took my wife and daughter to see one in person they both said it was “girly” and called it Tiffany blue.
I should add that I think it’s gorgeous, just a little too blue for me. Still salty that I can’t order anvil with a SOT and that Jeep killed Sting Gray.

I have exactly the same quandary! I'm ready to give the SOT top a try, had been thinking about Earl but then my wife and boys said it was girly, then they announced Anvil and that is so similar to my current Sting Grey I figured I would go for that. But ..... can't pair it with the SOT?! What is Jeep thinking?! Then, to add insult to injury, the only engine available with the Sahara is the 2.0?! Curse you, Jeep. I'm ready to drop a lot of money on a new Jeep, but can't get close to what I actually want anymore. May have to wait for the Recon, really wanted a 24 Wrangler for a while first.

For what its worth, I have held onto my Anvil Jeep for ~10 years only because the color is so terrific. I actually had a 2023 Sting Gray ordered, but then cancelled that order as soon as I saw Anvil available. I've had 6 Wranglers & Anvil is by far my favorite.

I was going to settle for Earl for my '23 Rubicon, but similarly, my wife & daughter said Earl was too girly, so I ordered Sting Gray. Once I saw Anvil was back for '24, I cancelled my Sting Gray (great color, yes!) for an Anvil '24 Rubicon X. You won't regret Anvil.

Yeah the more Anvil I see the more it looks like my Sting. Maybe a little shade darker here and there.

Looks beautiful! To be brutally honest, though, in that lighting it looks exactly like my current Sting Grey, I don't see any difference.
It's definitely darker in cloudy/darker conditions. I love it.

I just can't see it. Anvil is a nice color, but quite a bit darker and a lot more blueish to my eyes.

On the other hand, Earl is about the same luminosity/brightness as Sting-Gray, but with a ton of mint green and light blue mixed in. Sting is about the closest to a colorless grey, but still has a slight bit of brown and maybe even green tints to it.

Yeah and just pictures here are difficult, I seen an Earl and it was totally different than what I had seen in pictures. I actually thought the Earl was Sting Gray until I got closer. I was in the service area and it was the otherside of the showroom on a Rubicon. Once I got closer the mint showed.

I have not seen an anvil with my own eye balls. But the pictures here seem similar but side by side would be cool picture. My sting changes drastically by the lighting as most do but it really goes from dark to really light such as in my avatar.

Yeah, Sting-Gray (RIP!) tends to change a bit depending upon the ambient lighting and even seems to appear a little different depending on its surroundings. Not sure if it's some level of reflectivity or just your eye noticing the undertones.

For such a "boring" non-color, it's kinda schizophrenic like Nardo grey, looking pale and bright one minute then rich and dark the next.

Was really torn between getting Granite-Crystal and Sting-Gray, but I'm 110% glad I got the Sting. It even looks great dirty. Love it!

I love the Anvil color, I really do. But Earl I feel like will truly be a limited run (like the Tuscadero, Reign, Bikini, etc.) so I voted that. Anvil may stick around for a while like it did last time (or maybe I’m wrong, and if so, then yolo get an Anvil JL cause it could be “rare”).

Earl looks great in the configurator, but I found the color to be a bit enamel-like in person. Almost a seafoam green under our often overcast skies. Between Anvil and Earl, I would prefer Earl on less “Aggressively” styled Wranglers such as Sport/Sport S or Sahara, especially if fenders were painted. For more aggressively styled trims, I would go with Anvil. Although TFL Offroad has a video with an Earl 392 and the color and 392 styling look complementary in that video.

For my Willys, I wanted a vibrant color, narrowing it to Red, High Velocity, or Hydro Blue. We already had a red car, my wife really dislikes any bright yellows, which left Hydro as the best option. I really like Hydro in person.
