I can’t believe no major company has come out with this yet. I’ve had the thought lately that it might be easier and have more room if it were made to bolt in from the bottom? Putting it in from the top limits the shape and size. I still haven’t built the first one. Life getting in the way…….. it’s just a simple weekend project to build the first one though. I need to get on it!

I'm in the process of making something similar. Already relocated the muffler with Borla's climber exhaust and the rear swaybar with an AntiRock. Plan is to use the original swaybar mounts to make a frame to support the box, then put in a LiFePo battery, DC-DC charger, and, espar furnace in that spot.

I’m very interested in what you come up with. Take pics as the project progresses please.

So, this past Friday I started in on this project again. Plastic cubby removed, laying under it, decided I want to make it bolt in from below to get even more space. Eyeballing the muffler delete, and thinking if I cut the exhaust pipe just in front of the axle and do a turn down, I can make it easier to build and gain even more space.

Then I noticed my drivers side upper coil spring mount had a 3” crack in it, so I had to shift gears and repair that.

So I’m sourcing the right turn down right now, then I’m going to cut the exhaust and install it and see if there are no negative effects of it. It could cause a drone or be annoying?

I think I’ve lost interest in making this available. I still can’t believe no one has made this available yet in the aftermarket!

I have a 1 1/4” body lift and no rear sway bar. Both of those give me even more room then most of you, but it also makes it a little more challenging to make something that would fit your vehicle.

Pics below of that crack that I found! Welds aren’t the best, but it’s like welding blind up under the body!

I trimmed the factory tub out to the pinch welds to get a bit more space and made the new cargo pan out of 3/16" aluminum. Dimensions are about 24x14x10. I'm going to support the whole thing with stainless box tube mounted to the hitch and original swaybar mounts so nothing sits lower than my Rock Hard bumper. Still need to cut holes in the pan for furnace ducting and cables, then will powdercoat it.

Will a body fit in that? Just asking for a friend...
If you fold it over a couple times you could probably fit one...

You may want to rethink attaching it to the hitch and sway bar mounts, as the body is rubber mounted?

I finally made some progress on mine. I cut the passenger side square and removed the rear lip of the body hole so I could go as far back as possible to clear the diff and track bar. I decided to leave the exhaust as is and make the cubby fit my 2 Harbor Freight boxes. One is 75 lbs of tools, the other is 35 lbs of compressor and plug kit. I’m giving up a little bit of storage on the drivers side, but getting those 2 boxes below the floor more than makes up for it .

Yeah, my plan is to include rubber isolator mounts between the supporting frame and the cargo pan, as well as some weatherstripping between the cargo pan and the jeep's tub. Thanks.
