Years ago a recall was issued for an older Jeep Grand Cherokee model year to install a trailer tow hitch on those Jeeps not equipped with one; it seems that those Grand Cherokee's that were rear ended without tow hitches were prone to catch fire due to fuel tank rupture.

I have never towed anything, but I always buy a vehicle with a trailer tow package. It is a little additional protection for the people if rear ended.

Mm. Depending on the design (i.e., size) of the receiver hitch, its mounting point(s) and particularly its proximity to a fuel tank, a hard rear end collision could in fact serve to push the hitch into the fuel tank, thus increasing the risk of perforation and fire.

This likely varies from vehicle to vehicle; what is an improvement for a Grand Cherokee may in fact decrease safety in another model.

Looked at the Jeep Configurator this morning for a 24 Willys. Disappointed that it shows leather seats as an option and it comes with 3.45 gearing. When I ordered mine I was told leather was not an option and I "assumed" it had the 4.10 gearing to go along with the 33" tires.

Don’t give up hope yet. Website coding is hard for stallantis. I know the Canadian broach said it came with 4.10’s.

Jeep configurator shows leather as an option for Rubicon even though I was told it can't be ordered that way by multiple sources. Seems Jeep is having a hard time figuring out what they are doing or the guy who is building the website copy/paste from last year and forgot to fix it for 2024 lol.

Yep, I’ve been in wait mode for a 2.0 Rubicon 2 door for about 4 weeks now. I check in with my dealer about once a week since a started the process. Last Tuesday I got the same answer.

Not yet, I check in with my dealer once a week unless he calls me first. That day is tomorrow. If I hear anything I will post it.

I am planning to order a 2024 Rubicon X with the 2.0T engine. As many of you have noticed, for the last month or so, Jeep would only let you order one with the 3.6L engine. I got a call this morning from the local dealer telling me that as of yesterday, he is able to order with the 2.0T again. Several of you were waiting like I was, so you might want to give your dealer a call.

I’m looking at the order guide and see an option for perforated leather CBQ on the Willys. Is this real?

Is there an update to this? Last pricing I received had the half doors up to 5395 for premium uppers MSRP.
