Been thinking about dipping or painting the keyholes as well. But concerned about function after. Any issues you experienced? Have you tried the key since dipping them? Thanks
No, I never use the key. You could carefully trim away the hole area if you are going to use the key but it will show a bit of the metal. If you use the key without trimming it will likely tear off some of the plastic dip leaving jagged edges.

You’ll be happy you did. After beIng on the freeway the last couple of days I can tell you those straps holding the soft top in place are one of the best things i have done. The top is down low like my JK and doesn’t budge an inch.
I forgot to ask and meant to ask - do you see any rubbing issue with the strap and the red paint on the exposed trunk frame? I'm worried about the rubbing, which will cause scratches/fading of the exposed red paint. Any issues?

You must really love the new jeep driving it that much. I can't imagine how much you must have spent in gas over the last 4 months :)
It's only 8300+ miles a day at 347mph... most people do that

Finally received and installed my Rock Hard 4x4 sliders. Happy with them overall. Some comments below...

The good...

- They look very nice. These don't leave ugly exposed pinch seams, and they have a very durable-looking powder coat applied. They also have the bars protruding directly from the body of the sliders mounted to the pinch seam, adding a little bit of clearance versus some other styles, which protrude from under the seam.

- They have a total of 12 attachment points on each side (6 pinch seam, 3 body bolts as used by factory steps/rails, and 3 additional larger body-to-frame mounting bolts).

- They feel very sturdy and over-engineered. Going purely by feel, the factory Rubicon Rails seem weak in comparison.

- Good, solid welds. Though I'm no weld scientist.

The bad...

- Fitment was a slight issue. In their defense, they warn that one might have to bore out some of the pinch seam holes. I absolutely HAD to for the frontmost and rearmost holes on both sides (slightly). I measured and noticed that the studs for these weren't actually dead center. Not the biggest deal. Once bored out, everything slid right on and bolted right up.

- They don't follow the curve of the side of the vehicle. This means that the portion against the pinch seams produce slightly slightly both front and rear. This is barely noticeable.

- Two of the pinch seam studs were bent slightly, preventing them from properly inserting (you could visibly see they were at an angle, as well). I had to grab a locking wrench and pull them straight.

- Shipping took a long time. I ordered through an authorized dealer who told me that they would be shipped directly from Rock Hard in 5-7 days (per RH). It took three weeks and a few follow-ups before they finally shipped them out. In the end, I had to request a cancellation, the dealer contacted RH, and magically they were picked up by FedEx a couple hours later. I find this kind of thing incredibly annoying. At least everything was well-packaged and protected, and they arrived within a few business days (cross-country) after being picked up by FedEx.

- No instructions included, though it's fairly self-explanatory once you get under the car. Also available on the website, though they aren't the most comprehensive.

Looks great! Would it be possible to take some more pics at different angles? I know it’s a pain but i was looking at the same ones.

Sure thing. Attached are a few I took just now. There are some mud streaks right above the pinch seam, so not the best pictures. These mount slightly lower than the factory rails, and I haven't cleaned the newly-exposed rocker area yet.

After 250 miles on it now at ~75MPH and taking it wheeling with some washboard roads last night, I can tell you i am seeing no rubbing at all - the velcro strap is pretty soft as it has a small amount of stretch. I am not worried about it scratching it all.

I am LOVING how locked down and tight my soft top is now. I was following my daughter in our '09 JK and I realized the JK was pretty rock solid of not having top movement even without straps. Glad I now have both Rubicons tops nice and secure.
